It depends on the strain and how long you want to veg your plants out. It also depends on your lights and nutrients. You could probably get a plant about a 12" tall from seed in 4 weeks, could do it less with good light. Then average flowering time is probably somewhere around 8-10 weeks depending on strain. Roughly depending on those factors you could do an indoor run from seed in about 12 weeks or so.

Average harvest is about 56 days after you induce flowering.

Outdoors will take alot longer. You could get your plants 12 inches tall in 3.5 weeks or so. Then put them outside 2/3rds into June to make sure they don't flower from the low photoperiod timing, and if you have a 9 week strain it will probably finish sometime in mid-late october, that is if you guys aren't covered in snow by then. So to take advantage of the whole season you are looking at starting inside at beginning of May and finishing at the end of October or so.

you can get early varieties that are designed for northern climates and will finish in early september. That should be before the first frost in most places.

It could take anywhere from 50-85 days, depending on the strain.
