What strain?
You check by looking at the trichomes colour and even shape.
Clear = soaring high Cloudy = nearly soaring high, more potent Partially amber = more of a stone More amber... you get the idea
Most people harvest when the trichomes are 1/4 to 1/2 amber. I harvest when the trichomes are turning amber.

It's all preference. If he likes a soaring high he should chop when they're clear, If he likes to be couch locked he should harvest when they're full amber.

Do you not understand that if someone is seeking a soaring high they won't want to harvest their weed when it's amber?
Hanky is refering to when pot for general consumption or in some cases sale should be picked @ 1/4 - 1/2 amber fully clouded trichomes.
You can harvest whenever you want. If you watch Jorge Cervantes video he describes more or less what I covered with pictures and his eloquent descriptions are in more detail.

Calm down koons... If you read the entire thread, which was my intended result, you would have found this post: http://www.growery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/100068#Post100068 which is the meat of conversation.
