Harvesting according to trichome color

My outdoor is looking so good and its full of swollen crystals, I've been looking at it with a microscope and lots of them have gone cloudy and theres maybe 5-10% amber. Would you guys consider this peak harvest or would you wait till 50%cloudy/50%amber like most info on websites say?

it can be a matter of personal preference. cloudy will mean more of a uppy sativa high, and more amber will lean towards more couchlock like effects, but remember the majority of these effects come from the sativa/indica mix of the strain. 50/50 is obviously a good balance of both. once the amber starts showing, i think you're good to harvest whenever you would like, but don't let impatience get the best of you.

So if I see only a few amber while some are still clear and some cloudy would I still get some couchlock effect or would it be better to wait? I've waited 6 months so I can wait the extra week if needed only problem is the weekly forecast for my area is predicting rain everyday this week starting tomorrow and I dont want mold.

in that case, avoid the rain. you already have amber showing up, so go ahead with it. avoid mold at all costs, especially this late when you're so close to harvest.

Harvest as soon as you see amber, the trichomes will continue to change as your plants dry and cure.
There is a small percentage of sativa plants that go straight from clear to amber, these plants are usually very potent.

I chopped yesterday and I'm glad I did because its absolutely pouring this morning. I don't have any dry to smoke but I scraped my trim scissors and got a couple hits of kief off of them and boy did they make me sweat lol. Thanks for the responses Yrat.
