whether to tear down my entire grow or not
    #127955 - 10/02/08 11:07 AM (16 years, 1 month ago)

Backstory - we had an incident in my complex about a month ago that involved LEO asking permission to step inside my doorway for cover.  they said they werent gonna go poking around, and i felt comfortable enough that it would be an illegal search if they went into other rooms in my apt.

yesterday, an officer comes to my apt while i'm not home.  He talks to my roommate, long story short he says they are missing a part from a gun and wanted to see if it might be laying around in our living room.  Roommate lets him in and he doesnt find it.  As the officer is leaving he starts up a conversation that went something like

O - So whats up with your roommate?
Roomie - ...Nothing much, he's a friend of mine from high school.
O - You know what he's got going on in there?  He got his medical card?
Roomie - Yeah so far as I know it's all legal
O - No you know he has too many plants in there, we haven't forgotten about that.

and the officer left.  I don't have my card, and I currently have a grand total of 10 plants under CFLs and in various stages of growth.

from that i am guessing that they were snoopy assholes and went through my apt, but couldnt do anything based on the circumstances of the find, and now they are waiting for a way to fuck me maybe, or maybe they dont care...i'm scared.

I talked to a close friend who is familiar with these sorts of things and he basically said that my apt is blown for growing, and that my only choice is to tear everything down (and he can most likely adopt the plants for me).  It kills me to scrap 3 months and a few hundred bucks of work, and rather than call him and bug him with a bunch of what-ifs, what do you guys think?  what if i were to get my medical license immediately?  is there any way i can do something at this point to not lose my whole grow, and at the same time not risk my ass?

Sounds like they know, but are in no hurry to get at it. It'd be a shame to tear it down, but I think it would be prudent to do so to save yourself some grief later on. Get yourself a card and start up again would be my advice.

i didnt have much choice, they evacuated the building and it was unlocked, and i happened to be the one apartment they needed to use.  they would have gone in anyway and i'd be in the same spot i am now because i only consented to them going just inside the doorway anyway.

oh well, looks like my friend is gonna pick up the plants later today.  i do have two 4" clones in halved soda bottles of soil, thinking about stashing them in a bin in a cabinet in my detached garage maybe just so i have something to fiddle with.  but the hydro system in my house will just have a bunch of basil plants in it now.....

Your friend is lucky that he gets to reap all the rewards of your hard work.  Right now he will say "yea yea man I'll adopt them and we can split the harvest" but as soon as they start fattening up and he can see there is gonna be a lot of weed  he mysteriously won't answer your calls anymore I've seen it with people I know countless times.  I wouldnt scrap anything until you are certain you want to give everything up cuz I bet what I said will happen.

yeah i explained to him yesterday that it was retarded he let them in, i told him rules are no warrant no go.  but the problem is, they still know anyway, they didnt go anywhere near the grow which is behind two closed doors, they knew about it from before.

and as far as teh friend taking the plants (assuming he does), he's treated me VERY well as long as i've known him and has no shortage of his own bud, and has his own grow that is better anyway.  not to mention i wouldnt presume to expect any of the weed anyway.  if he didnt take the plnats i'd be cutting them into pieces and hauling them away in trash bags, he's doing me a favor.

That is true you should tear it down or you will be sharing a cell with MFDoom and he doesn't like to share...you should let your friend adopt the plants so all your work isn't lost....
then get your medical license, and then start all over again that would be the smart thing to do....
we don't need another one from the site going to jail over some weed
