Powdery mildew
    #124833 - 09/22/08 02:07 PM (16 years, 2 months ago)

Well this is the first year my outdoor has succumed to this and I was just wondering if anyone has had success controling it enough so you dont have to harvest early.  I have about 3 weeks left in flower and the buds are just starting to fatten up.  Ive just started using a dilluted spray of baking soda and water since it says using store bought chems late in flowering can damage and burn buds.  Anyone advice would be appreciated.

is there any way for you to provide pics?

how does the mildew appear/spread?  the only way to really control it is to spray and continuously check the plants while cutting out affected areas to minimize spreading.

watch that you don't over-spray them, as excess moisture will surely just lead to the condition worsening.

I dont have access to a camera but I'm 100% positive it is powdery mildew.  It started as little spots on leaves then I noticed it on the leaf tips and some is making its way to the buds.  I heard 1 part milk 8 parts water is effective at killing/maintaing mildew so we'll see if that works.  I know the last option would be to cut them down early but to be honest after all this wait I dont realy give a fuck about "just getting something to smoke" if they dont get to finish I almost dont even want them it would just piss me off thinkin about what I could of gotten.

Just in case anyone else has this problem the baking soda water solution and milk water solution seems to be helping quite a bit.
