found it on ebay for $125 with free shipping. seems a LOT cheaper than hps and mh lights....but not very many posts have been made about whether leds are up to par with hid lights yet or not.
worse comes to worse, one could buy the leds for vegetation and hps for flowering. seems like that would still save a ton of money on electricity and be a lot better than cfls. id probably have to find an led light that is more concentrated on the blue area of the spectrum rather than the red though....and im not really seeing any on ebay...
anyone knowing anything about this subject please do share.

I'm expecting that, at that price, there isn't enough LED's on it to be enough for much of anything, considering how expensive the ones are that might work for more plants... Anyways, I don't know more than anything general about them, but I think they are too expensive now to be worth it. I did see a cool grow log where the dude was making his own panels though.
Calibrate, I just spent the last two months researching..alot about L.E.D's, so if you have any questions, I'd be more than happy to answer, but let me leave you with my conclusion on L.E.D's:
Taste: Excellent (nothing burnt) Yield: Sub-Par Growth: Substantial and quick
Good for vegging, not so good for cropping.
Procyon's are bricks, and the best LED's because they use CREE HID LED's, but you can really build one yourself for 1/4 the amount if your good with circuit boards/engineering.
Anyways, if you decide to invest in LED's, I'd reccomend doing it only for vegetative for now, with supplemental CFL's or Cold UV cathode lighting.
Be all, End all of LEDs. At best, by they're very nature an LED is a narrow band transducer. You will never get the bandwidth necessary to grow big using silicon. Sorry but it's never going to be less than true.
IMO LED lighting is best used as a SUPPLEMENT to normal lighting. Maybe in the future they will have a bigger impact as a primary source, but for now they're more of a novelty item then anything.
Personally i'd just save the cash and invest in an HID system, or at the very least, a high power CFL system.
thanks for all the input everyone, and ill probably take you up on that offer and pm you or something, greenthumb.
it just seems to make sense that if someone were to build/buy an led grow light that leaned more towards the blue side of the spectrum rather than red, then optimal growth for vegetative plants could be met fairly easily. not just that but...electricity bill in the long run would be a lot lower.
