Flowering?
    #95421 - 07/28/08 01:09 PM (16 years, 4 months ago)

So im pretty sure my plants flowering, do I need to change anything in order for it to bud. Shes gets sun from rise to fall should I lower the amount of sun in order to induce budding or will nature do its on work.

Shes at three feet now is there much growth while they bud?

no flowers yet, but she has shown sex so you should be seeing the beginning of buds shortly.  I'm not sure how much more stretch you will be seeing as i only grow indoors, so my plants only get a dark cycle when i induce flowering.  However, i will take a guess that you may see a little more stretch once the days start becoming shorter and they get more dark then light.

that looks mainly sativa, so you should expect a fairly long flowering time.  if you are worried about finishing before your area's first frost, then you might consider moving it to a location where the length of day could be shortened by shade.  if this is not an issue though, give her all the sun she can take.  she will at least double in size during flowering.

i would advise against covering the plant.  unless you can do this twice a day at the exact same times, without fail until she's done, it will really just be way too much of a hassle.  you don't want to cook her inside a plastic bag, and you don't want to trap in moisture and promote the growth of mold.

hard to guess, i really have no idea.  what size pot is it in now, 2-3 gallons?  that things has to be pretty root bound.  switch to a 5 gallon bucket and you will see an explosion in growth.

root bound means the roots have completely grown through the soil and need more space to grow outward and support the plant properly.

damn so I should really switch it to a bigger pot? Would that mean that since its at 3 foot now it could stretch to around 6?

let nature run its course and hope it doesnt rain too much before harvest. swap out to a bigger bought. begin fertilizing with a high Phosphorus nutrient (what kinda ferts are you using>?) and if you're worried about the height of the beast, start bending the plant. not only will you keep it low pro, but it'll have more light reaching the inside of the canopy aka: more buds! good luck!

do you have drainage holes in the trash can?

how did the roots look when you took her out of that pot?  cramped?

good job! what i usually do to bend an outdoor beast, i just get like twine, tie the parts of the plant that i want to bend (like the tallest part and all of the major side branches) and pull the branches down and weigh the twine down with something like a brick. maybe i'll take some pictures tomorrow if you still don't understand.

I kind of understand how to tie down, but a pic would be really helpful just so I don't mess anything up... Any negatives to bending?
