I'd like to nominate SolidLog as thread MVP.
I learned my lesson on posting anything serious in political threads, most of political posting online isn't worth the power and memory on the servers.

I'd say I'm probably not, I'm generally bad at it.
Not really talking about these servers, just servers in general. I find it's too easy to dehumanize the people, or oversimplify their arguments, when you're behind the veil of the interwebs. I say that from experience, having been subjected to it, and been guilty of doing it to other people in the past.
It seems like face-to-face conversation yields better results. It's harder to disconnect the conversation being had from the humans engaging in it when you are looking them in the eye. It's also easier to realize that most working-class Americans want what they believe is best for the country and its citizens, but through different circumstances, experiences, and trusted sources of information, have arrived at different conclusions on how to achieve that common goal. Sure, there are always some wackos on either side that everyone can point to and say "you see, they're all crazy/stupid/evil" but that's generally not how the common voter feels.
All that said, I've yet to change any minds in a fundamental way using either tactic. If anything, the only functionally positive effect I've managed (or at least, I think I have) is to convince people that the voters have more in common than they think, and hopefully that helps to chill out the level of polarization a little. Maybe that's all wishful thinking on my part.
Anyway, yea the last few years I've tried to steer clear of overtly political conversation online. Every once in a while I get dragged into a social issue shit-flinging, but I'm also getting tired of those too. Hopefully I can eventually get back to a living situation where I can start legally growing cannabis again, and just focus on that instead of everything else online.

So ignoring all of this bullshit and asking a question:
If Trump gets elected, how likely is it that he will work to implement the majority of the claimed actions laid out in Project 2025, and what are everyone's opinion of how much success he will have if so?

OK so Stoneth, what parts of Project 2025 do you actually support as a good move for the country, and are there any parts of it that give you a "meh, that doesn't really align with my values" feeling?
GenesisCorrupted, I haven't had time to look into this because of my work situation, do you have any links you could provide that would give everyone a good idea of Harris's agenda if she were elected? If so, same questions apply that I've put forward to Stoney about Project 2025.

No one won that shit show of a so called debate. US voters lost big time. It was a one sided three on one witch hunt at best. She was aloud to lie not once fact checked, the mods lied and held her hand the whole way. Trump ended the right way pointing out how she should have done something in the past 3.5 years. And all she's done is let illegals in and give them tax payers dollars and jobs US citizens needed.
And on a side note Data The Herriage Foundation's Project 2025 is not Trump's plan. It was written in 2027 when even repubicans could've have known that Trump would be on the ticket. Also I would not support a pure Christian nation.
OK yea I've seen and read that he's trying to distance himself from Project 2025. That would be tough if the former officials from his presidential administration who worked to develop project 2025 were to be reappointed to the next administration, but that's also highly dependent on which positions they are appointed to.
So I've just recently visited the agenda47 web page and kinda scrolled through the titles and descriptions of his videos. The majority of it sounds like standard political promises that are almost always overpromised and underdelivered, but again nothing too out of line for a politician. Some of the points, like creating a federally funded university and degree system that directly competes with existing universities, or using Schedule F and Impoundment to remove employees of the federal government and to block the allocation of alreafy federally approved funding to programs and projects, without much objective detail on how those decisions will be made, those cause me a little concern. Messing around with higher educational systems that are used to determine if someone has the knowledge and skills to perform complex jobs can complicate things significantly, and un/under qualified people working certain jobs can be disastrous for sectors like utilities and infrastructure.
One of the reasons that consolidation of powers like this into any one person or any one branch of government is and should be met with skepticism and pushback, is because there's no real accountability for the president for the next 4 years as long as they keep their party in line to avoid removal from office after impeachment, so a candidate can say "trust me I'll do the right thing if you give me the power" and then do whatever they want for the next 4 years. Additionally, the next president could use that newfound power to quickly reshape the government and its path in a way that may be completely opposed to your views. It's one of the reasons I've been against Biden adding Supreme Court justices to balance out the current right-majority, because it would set the stage for the Supreme Court to be part of the regular administrative overhaul when a new president is elected.
So I guess my question for you (Stoneth) is what parts of agenda47 do you agree with, and is there any part of trumps official agenda for 2025 that you foresee as a potential problem in the 2025 to 2028 administration, or has potential to cause problems down the road if those agenda points are abused by the next Democrat president. For those issues, what viewpoint do you take to keep you voting for Trump in the upcoming elections?
Genesis, same question for Harris. I'm sure we all realize that neither candidate is a perfect fit, and there are some deviation between who we are as people and what we support, and our respective presidential candidate's agenda for the next 4 years. Let's spend a little time airing out our own concerns for the candidate we support and why we are still voting for them in spite of those concerns.

Or maybe a different reason altogether...
