Are these common paraphernalia? Personally I don't have either, but a space case would be nice.

I don't like grinders, since so much kief gets stuck on the blades/teeth/whatev. I know I can recover it eventually, but it bothers me.
Instead, I throw my weed a largish sake glass, and use a metla pick and a serrated blade from a winekey to chop it finely. After a couple bowls worth, there's a fat kief hit in the bottom of the dish

Having a grinder is pretty key if you smoke a lot of good pot. Breaking it up by hand is just going to result in losing trichs on your fingers etc. that you could otherwise salvage with a grinder.
If you're smoking schwag though, doesn't really matter IMO. Although I've seen people who smoke some decent mids and use a grinder and get a decent amount of keif off it.

yeah I just use a wide shot glass and a small pair of trimming scissors. It does a pretty good job of containing all the kief but I'm in the market for a nice space case grinder with a kief catcher.

you can get a nice one for under $10 on ebay. good quality too. just make sure you don't get one too small.

The large space cases are very nice. You can gring up a whole 1/4 of dense cali in them like budda.

Does the quality surpass the price? I find the cheaper ones always chip and break teeth on stems. For $12 though it can always be replaced when it does.

these are the same grinders i found in a local headshop for $30, $40... the quality is fine imo, definitely surpasses the price. been using mine for awhile and no chips, no breaks. i don't ever see mine chipping or breaking at all... i don't grind big stems though, just bud.
if you want i can link you to the ebay seller that did me right and has the best price imo. just pm me.
also when i ordered i messaged the guy and told him to give me one with a good magnet just in case.

I think i paid like 24$ for mine. It was part of a larger gift to myself for graduating college. It's heavy duty but doesn't have a screen for kief to fall, but that's ok. Hmm. maybe i could scrounge up another hit out of it.

I hand pick  . I could see the benefit of a keif box but meh.
I it's good weed I typically just break off a nug. With regs I brake up med fine.

I've used both a phony space case and a real one. They are about the same when it comes to the grinding, except the blades on the real space case are a little better at cutting the weed up. The biggest difference is the screen. The space case has a very nice screen. worth the extra $$$ imo

i have one of the original space cases without a screen. I've had it almost 8 years now with no chipping, or wear, on the blades. It still grinds just as well now as it did when i first got it. I just need to swish some alcohol around once in a while to clear up the gumminess.
I really only use it for the cano though, if im packing bowls i break up the weed by hand.

I have a generic 4 piece and I love it
blades are very sharp and I dont see this thing breaking... ever
I got it for free at a headshop when I bought other gear
