My medical marihuana card expired months ago, and I was forced to pay the steep, overtaxed recreational prices for halfway decent weed. I wanted to renew it, but with the whole covid-19 thing, I didn't want to make any in person appointments, and my local medical marijuana doctor options are extremely limited. My home state has always been weird about the necessary "bonafide Dr. / patient relationship", specifically condemning online appointments. I noticed that in other states with similar rules, there was a special exception for the pandemic, but I couldn't find anything like that in my state.
Anyways, I finally got the idea to check weedmaps for clinics, and found one downstate that was offering $100 renewals over telephone. Filled out an application, submitted it, and the next day I got an email; "Your medical marijuana card has been approved. Here is your temporary card." Well that was easy!
I found out later that they had called and spoken to my mom briefly, basically just to tell me to check my email. I guess if that works for them, it works for me!
Medical prices are $30 cheaper per 1/4 oz than recreational, but high quality, organic flower still goes for over $500 an oz.
