Ok so I have two legal grows under my belt in a small 3x2 tent with a burple light. (Didn’t know better as a beginner). But I’m doing away with old and bringing in the new. I bought two sf 4000 (any one like them?) For my 8x6 newly built grow room. (8x6 or 8x7 don’t remember exactly) I bought two of these fans https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01DXYMM2I/ref=yo_ii_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Now what I am really here for is I’m wondering if I get a 6x8 reducer/coupler whatever you wanna call it is that gonna effect my airflow so badly to the point it’s not gonna be efficient? For the room I have I feel it should be fine but I’m not sure. The reason behind this is because I already have 6in holes cut in my walls and I don’t wanna have to do a 8in hole. Any input on the lights or reducer is appreciated!
The best 6 inch fan I could find was around 500 cfm, so you'd probably be somewhere around there. I am running into a similar problem with my new grow room, I need at least an 8" fan but I already have a 6" hole.
Regarding lights, I believe those lights are around 500w each, so 1000w/8x6= approximately 21 watts per square foot. You will want between 30-40w/sqft with good LEDs. I'd focus on a 4x8 area at around 31w/sqft, leaving room for equipment and walking.
I would also invest in a vortex fan. Higher quality fans means less chance of them breaking and costing you a crop.
