I have thought extensively of growing my own herb, but I am just not able to do it unfortunately. It seems too hard, and I have no place to put the lights; I wish like hell that I could grow my own herb and harvest it myself. I've wanted to do this for over 15 years but never got around to trying.
The sooner you start, the better you'll be at it. Growing can be as challenging or rewarding as you want to make it. If you research things ahead of time you can avoid many noob mistakes.
My advice? Set aside some money each time you buy weed. Eventually you'll be able to afford equipment, and begin growing. Until then, read up on growing techniques and design a space.
You can start as big or small as you want to. I recommend starting small. A 2x4 tent would be perfect if you could find the space for it. Otherwise you could look into space buckets or computer cases.

I've probably saved like 1k from going it's a good idea generally and it's hard to become addicted when you grow it yourself

I'm legally starting this spring.
I don't expect marvelous outcomes -- but it will be fun to mess around with.
Hopefully, I can grow some decent schwag at least.
Shit, I may setup my grow plan come to think of it.

Keep an updated journal, w/ pics or gtfo!
--------------------
Learning to love life by living through loss and mistakes
Lessons learned then gradually surfacing, Letting go, stripping naked to scream
I am not perfect nor do I strive to be, I am alive in this world of face first falls and public breakdowns
I'm a retarded, disfigured clown
Dying to be heard through the simple art of letting this heavy wall finally fall
I'm an equal being of no race, or color, a hallucination if you will
Sneaking into the lives of strangers, and letting them fall apart to a new rhythm just to feel better

Do you only do things within the confines of the law?

Yes.
I worked hard to keep a clean record.
And my God does it help.
Ever see felons try to get a job? It's sad really.
