A vape dilemma...what should I do?

Hi guys, I've come to the conclusion that if I want to continue using weed, that smoking is no longer an option for me based purely on health concerns (that's another subject altogether though).
Here's the dilemma; the only vapouriser I want to buy is the iolite due to its size, style & great reviews. Thing is, it's quite expensive and understandably so. But I only have one dealer at the moment and I'm concerned he may not be around long enough to justify spending that amount of money on something that I potentially might not use very much. What if I buy it and he decides to move away? As he's my only connection, it's more of a gamble. My dad says to still go ahead and buy it as he thinks weed's 'everywhere and easy to find', well I can tell you that I had a hard time finding this guy and it was on part luck too so I'm doubtful that I'll find another easily, these dealers seem so elusive!
I can't go on smoking from my pipe, I just can't. And edibles are out of the question as they use so much weed, so a vape is the only logical option.
What should I do? I don't earn a great deal so I consider it a big investment.
Thanks for reading.

Your health is priority 1 and your making a good decision to try to improve it.
Even if your dealer does move away, chances are it won't be the last time you ever see the herb so it's not like it won't ever be useful again. If you take good care of it, it will last a long time.
To me it makes sense to make the purchase if you want to keep smoking - but at the same time, your health and dealer situation make that decision difficult.
I would not make the decision based on what you think might happen to your dealer.
PLUS there are ways to find people who are willing to mail very high quality dank to you.

Yeah I definitely want to keep using weed, that's for sure. It helps with so many of lifes little problems, I find it too beneficial not to use. My lungs and throat mean more to me so that takes an uncompromising priority. I think you're right, I just seem to always estimate the worst scenarios, I've always been pessimistic, but in this case I think I have more reason to feel this way, especially being on a tight budget, that money can last me a while haha. Not sure on mail ordering weed, it seems too risky although a friend has successfully done it multiple times I'm not too sure I could take the plunge!
Thanks for your input

If you process your weed right you can get wasted on 0.5g and it only takes 7-8g to make a small batch of brownies

A vape-pipe, huh? You had any good experience with it personally? Sounds like it could be tricker to get used to than the more traditional vape imo..

Where I'm from weed is stupid expensive. 15$ a g. No experience with making edibles & it's also time consuming. I'm looking more towards quick healthy fixes tbh. But thanks anyway.

But it's more expensive than the iolite and not portable!

Seriously!
Ok I've been having a serious think and studied the reviews for this particular vape and decided to buy it! Should arrive in a few days...
Can I ask, what type of lighter you use, and will hempwick burn hot enough? Seems like using conventional lighters would burn you at that angle.

Cool did you get the glass one or the wood?
A bic works best, hempwick will work also.

The Vapor Genie requires a lighter.

I got this one:
Glad to hear a regular bic lighter will work, that's cool Do you hold the flame 1cm from the filter when you vape with it? Been watching vids of people actually making contact with the flame & filter.
Cant wait to try this out!!

You let the flame tip steadily flow into the hole but dont let it touch the ceramic/ try to keep some of the orange part still visible.
