 Finally Opium Poppys!

I sprinkled some McCormick brand Poppy seeds around in the spring and they are finally blooming and they are the real mother fucking deal yall! I'm excited. I found a pic of what they look like,
Im excited. When should I lance them? As soon as the pedals fall off?

no, not 3 days
it depends on teh plant
the pods will turn a lighter hue and the crowns will point up when they are ready to be milked. Usually a week or two after the petals fall off

smoke raw opium much like you would hash, just tilt the bowl to the side, definitly put a charcoal disk in a wood pipe, in otherwords.
opium poppies are best lanced when the rim, around the top of the bulb, turns dark, before it flowers, then begin to lance, don't lance all the way through, as it will seep into the middle of the pod, or cut off production, I sit with a pin, and poke the living shit out of top layer of skin. Takes time, but it works.
all poppies have some degree of alkaloids in them, there are just those that have A LOT..
www.fsre.nl has a great list of seeds, and Eric/Ingrids poppy strain has been the best producer for me, other then the lithuanian poppies, they sent, they are uber small, but lactate non stop, i had to buid catchers to catch the latex.

all poppies have alkaloid content, i doubt mcormicks would be high in content, but yes, they have opium.
u can get china whites and aghani poppy's from fsre.nl's sporebank.
they have a super high content. it all depends on your cultivar.

I believe McCormick's fields are grown for medical use and the seeds are a by product after harvesting the THEBAINE for making droogs.
But maybe not all bottles will be true to this. I know if you go to bulk food stores and get seeds, there is a 99.999999999 chance the seeds are from HIGH alkaloid content containing poppys.

And no problem, Poppy is my other favorite garden.
i have several hundred grams of their differnet types o poppy, Erics "Hens n Chicks" look promising.
Eric sent me an untranslated "tek" on how he makes Opium Kraken, i'll look it up and come back in here and edit this post to post it.

Ok you said "turns dark, before it flowers," I don't understand. Before it flowers the pods are not accessible. Only after the flower has bloomed is the pod accessible. I was under the impression that after the pedals fall off you lance. I assume that since the seeds I get at bulk food stores contain enough opium to do a simple water extract to get me nodded out that the pods must be lanced after the seeds ate finished forming.
I'm still confused on when to lance or "milk" my poppy's 
Can some one please help me out a little more? I don't want to let anything goto waste.

Nope, the mccormicks are not the thebaine strain if this is what your refering to. THe company that owns the patent doesn't sell the seeds wholesale.
