 Topping a plant well below growth tip?

Hello and well met,
I have a small project with 6 plants which I topped using FIM-method. Topping failed with two of the plants, which now have grown approx. 15 cm taller than the other ones. Is it ok to cut them again 10 cm or so below the growth tip, as I would like their height to be more in par with the 4 other plants and thus avoid unnecessary shading in a smallish closet.

You can cut the top off at any time. Eventually the top branches that remain will become dominant. Just cut above the upper most stems you want to save and let it recover. I usually pick a spot where 2 branches are coming out at the same height, for uniformity.
I like to wait a week to flower a plant once its been topped. I also don't top plants in flower. It slows the flowering down and gives you lower yields if you do it too close to flowering.
