Both opium and heroin will show positive for morphine on a lab GC/MS/LS test, as heroin is made by acetylizing morphine to get diacetyl morphine, the actual name for heroin. Heroin was just it's original brand name and now used as it's name, much in the way all tissues are referred to as Kleenex and insulated beverage containers are called Thermos.
The heroin metabolites (6-AM and 6-MAM) are only detectable in urine for a few hours after ingestion of heroin, regardless of ROA (rout of administration.

I tried growing some poppies at my apartment complex years ago and they got ripped off.
All the old heads I hung around with in the Hollywood Hills at our party house, who had tried all the opiates, recommended opium. My mom described red opium oil from India as interesting.
