Can a Leaf-less plant grow leaves?

So my Blue City Diesel has no leaves left after a really bad spider mite infestation.
Can leaves grow back just from stems or is my plant dead?

If look at nodes if tiny leaves coming from there. Then yes. If dry and crispy at nodes where leaves used to be then outlook does not look good. If stems are not turning brown and look alive there is still a chance tho.
So answer is maybe although will take awhile and keep humidity decent should help.

I don't think fan leaves will grow back , but you will probably get some new leaves pop out the buds tho. It would be interesting to know where the leaves start growing back from .

I understand that but which node? Do you think it will pop some leaves off the main stem or a side branch. My thinking tells me it will be the closest to the light but I'm no biologists. Auxins can inhibit growth at those points too, so it all real boils down to hormone levels at different points on the plant . The rabbit hole gets deep.

Odds are yes, I would start new seeds or get another clone right away. You should keep the stem around and check for any new growth you might get lucky, but its a good ideal to presume the worse.
Remember to fully sanitize your grow area to remove any eggs the spider mites might have left just waiting for the right humidity level to hatch. Spider mites eggs can hibernate for years.

Yes it will grow new stem from which new leaves grow. Can happen anywhere along the stem where a leaf used to be.

I'm talking about regrowing a leaf from a old node. Like fan leaf node on the main stalk Not a new branch. I have mother plants that have been around for about a year now and the stump never grows leaves just branches from the stump . Being so late in flower I'm wondering if she will have the energy to grow new stem or is she will just put out more single or triple blade leaves in the bud. I've never had one get that bad on me so I'm curious how she will react.

Nope again from a stem. Just picture how all other leaves start... formed at meristem where stem grows or a bud. Dont poop out huge fans out low on the stalk. Once u think about it look at a growing plant u will get that ahh haa moment i am sure of it.
