Quick question about transplanting and container size
    #826977 - 07/03/17 09:00 AM (7 years, 5 months ago)

Hello. I have 12 plants started in small containers I've cut out of water bottles - the regular personal size.

I have several large smart pots and other big pots ready for transplant, but I don't want to transplant until I know they're female, so my question is - Will I be able to let them grow to the 6 weeks or so when I will be able to tell, in these small containers?

I wouldn't like to transplant twice, and I don't really have any medium sized pots to go to before the big ones anyway.

thanks

They will be pretty root bound by then. Technically they will survive but you may do damage to the plants plus you would have to water them several times a day. Then trying to get them to recover once you do transplant is going to take a lot longer cause of being so root bound . Not sure how they will handle all the stress from being root bound could be bad (reduced yeild).

Hm ok. Thank you.

I guess I will just have to find some bigger pots until then
