my computer is running super slow for some reason. could anyone take the time to help me out? thanks

Clear your cache in firefox/IE,
Im assuming you're using Windoze
go to Start > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Cleanup
and Start > Accessories > System Tools > Defrag (takes forever - do it overnight)
Finally, download Spybot Search & Destroy. It'll find all the damn spyware and adware on your computer that's probably bogging it down.
That'll clean up your computer, but you might wanna consider upping your RAM if it's still sluggish.

i have spybot search & destroy and my ram right now is 2038 MB.
i will try and run the S&D then clear out firefox as well. thanks

Disk cleanup can also take a while, depending on how big your harddrive is, and if you're dealing with compressed old files. If that doesn't solve your problem, please let us know what your system specs are. It could just be you have a stone age processor.

Definitely could be spyware and adware. Get something like spyware doctor. Also, if you don't have an antivirus make sure you get one. When was the last time you defragmented your system?
