Temperature inside your computer?
    #622333 - 05/12/12 05:43 PM (12 years, 7 months ago)

I think my laptop runs unusually hot but really have nothing to compare it to

Mine runs around 57-64 degrees Celsius , so around 100+ degrees

I use a program called Speccy for all my computer monitoring and stuff

What you guys run around? Laptop or Desktop? and what kind of processor you running?

My laptop will overheat if I play games like Skyrim on it... I have to put it on a book, or on a fan thangy made for that... It is kinda a shitty problem to be honest, no idea of the temperature.

Computers will automatically shut off when it overheats to protect the components.

Why do you think it's overheating? Is it a laptop?

Well its pretty rare, its only when I play, I mean I have to play for like 2-3 hours, or just leave the game on, and it will overheat if the laptop is not on any height (to let the hot air out). Since the computer's ventilation system sucks kinda much, its exit is under the computer, so when its blocked, well the hot air stays inside it... The computer can get really hot also, enough to not want to place it on yourself like when you are on the couch or thangs like that. I got a kind of fan thing just for that, it is like a little tablet that I put the laptop on, gives a nice angle for writing also...

It will shut down, then show a blue screen when you turn it on, saying that it had to be shut down to avoid damages. My brother has a more recent version of my laptop and they fixed the problem, they put the ventilation exit in the back of the screen, so it cannot be blocked.

Yeah, I have to keep my laptop raised when I run Star Wars. It's a pretty heavy load game.

I cant even have a browser open while I play or it completely slows it down

Never had it shut down from overheating though

You need a new fan or is it just a design flaw?

the average CPU is fine till about 70c

laptops components can take a little more than that usually

95% of the time the temp you are seeing is the CPU temperature
