This is really cool. What nutrients/hormones/antibiotics did you add? Is it just MS media? did you have to add any of the vitamins/hormones/antibiotics after sterilization?
I tried this last spring with young leaves from a raspberry plant+grap plant I had growing outside. I cut tiny bright green leaves off, washed them 3x in dish soap and water, then washed them 3x in 10% bleach, put them onto a medium containing agar, tap water, nitrogenous fertilizer which contains NPK, small amount of epsom salts and sea salt, nutritional yeast for vitamins, and sucrose. sterilized it all in jars. Problem is I didn't add an antibiotic and evidently the soap and bleach washes weren't enough to sterilize because bacteria took over everything and eventually the plant turned brown and died.
Edit: It should also be noted that this was done in front of a laminar flow hood.

Any updates on this? I am thinking of trying my hand at tissue culture again soon.
