Fox Farm
    #814862 - 06/13/16 11:01 AM (8 years, 6 months ago)

Can someone advice me on which Fox Farm nutrients I should be using for plants grown in soil in pots? I contacted them directly but they said they could not discuss the subject matter. Thanks.

What should I use for veg. and for flowering? growing in soil in pots. I mean, I read what they have on their site, but I was hoping to hear from someone who uses their products regularly.

FF Soil Trio is what you're looking for. Seems to be popular with the newbies.

After looking at what they've got I'd actually recommend the Happy Frog dry nutrients. The all-purpose or tomato and vegetable would work.

I've never used dry nutes. Do you mix them in with the soil before potting?

No, many you would add to water and feed as needed to the plants.

Garden tip: All-Purpose is a good general fertilizer to help rejuvenate your garden. Use monthly throughout the growing season. For established plantings, scatter 1/2 cup for every 2 feet of plant height. Lightly scratch into the top inch of soil and water thoroughly.

The bottle will have directions no worries

Add the dry powder to water, then u have ur liquid nutrients.. like stoneth that said

Simply use as reccomended on the bottle ull be good. It should tell u how much sry powder to add to one gallon of water..

Even if someone gave u a great recipe to use with the Fox farms.. ud still have to learn how to use them urself in your particular application

I must add, that it's always best to start at half strength of less or the bottle/package recommendations.

So do the dry nutes go further than the liquids? I mean, do you get more with the dry over the liquid?

Dry nutes have a higher shelf life than liquids.
I've never used the fox farms nutes.
If shelf life is something you're worried about I'd go with the dry.
However personally, I'd choose the trio for soil.
It would make it much easier to address the different phases of growth stages, and their needs.

I put vermiculite in my organic soil. There's not a lot of places to get soil, it's just kind of an odd thing to order online.

Like stoneth said, sry nutrient store longer. U can have a bottle around for over a yr and not worry. If u have liquid nutrients over a yr u might wonder if they're bad now expired..

If fox farm dry nutrients are designed to mix in the soil or scratch into the top surface of the soil... it'll say so.

Bottom line is, like people have stated... simply follow the directions on the bottle. Maybe start at half strength like stoneth reccomended ur call

Some dry nutrients are designed to be added to the water as previously stated.

Some, apparently, are like fox farms and u should scratch into the top layer of the soil then water.. just read the bottle

I've never used fox farms either, shouldn't have given advice on it since ice never used it I guess.
