It might add some resistance, therefor heat and power consumption, but it shouldn't add significantly. Maybe a super small amount.
Watts = Volts (120) X amps (however many amps your equipment pulls)
A 15 amp breaker can handle 1800w; 20A is 2400w. If you draw more than that the breaker will trip and you are running too many watts. Don't run all 1800w over that one outlet, spread it out between a few so that it doesn't burn your house down as quickly. Check your house, sometimes a few rooms share breakers and you can be pulling too much without looking like your overloading it.
If your really concerned about it, turn the fan down and it will use less watts itself. You can also get a kill-a-watt meter to check your power draw.
