First Grow (Need some opinons)
    #793725 - 09/17/15 07:26 PM (9 years, 2 months ago)

So i lucked out and found a tiger striped seed in some dank recently. Decided to sprout it and see how it went. No nutrients , no ph testing, just water and soil.  Day one of sprout: kept it outside untill day 5.  Day 5 :  Kept under light and still there. Just one 14w cfl kept about 3 inched above. On day 12 now and about to upgrade lighting situation. Does the plant look good? or decent? 9/17/15 Day12 Any suggestions? Thinking of doing a four 23w cfl grow. Cheap and simple. Also been watering every three days or so. Done some research on watering. Think im doing it right

The right pH means the plant takes nutes better.Hopefuly the soil has that.

Only one way to find out.

Good luck.

sweet deal, thats a tiny cfl. 14w, you can keep that as close as possible. not touching. but really close. that soil should be fine until a transplant, but i would suggest something better or some amendments for that soil. there are some  good storebought soils, otherwise if you have access to a grow store, thatd be sweet. the big thing about storebought soil is that alot of it has time release nutrients, that will interfere with your feeding schedule..(with every watering those little balls are degrading more and more.. releasing more nutrients into the soil) alot of foxfarms stuff is around in garden stores now, that seems to be a favorite..the others are all either online or grow stores:(
best of luck!

Looks good to me!

I would add 24 watt CFL bulbs slowly, as the plant grows. Too much could burn the plant from the heat of all 4 bulbs. So 2 then add 2 later, increasing distance.

Every 3 days sounds good. I was taught to let the soil completely dry out, then soak it in water, then let it dry out, and repeat.

I would start a nitrogen rich fertilizer soon, say in a week, for better growth.

And start looking for a bigger pot to put transfer it later.
