Lessons learned then gradually surfacing, Letting go, stripping naked to scream
I am not perfect nor do I strive to be, I am alive in this world of face first falls and public breakdowns
I'm a retarded, disfigured clown
Dying to be heard through the simple art of letting this heavy wall finally fall
I'm an equal being of no race, or color, a hallucination if you will
Sneaking into the lives of strangers, and letting them fall apart to a new rhythm just to feel better

i see, too each his own. i never really listened to much rap, just eazy e cause he's funny. so i learned a bit from that movie. also the LA riots fascinate me, i wish the country would rise up against the police today, especially with all the abuse of authority in the media from around the country.
seems like LA riots occurred for less than what happens today...
anyway, maybe you just have to like rap or just have a diverse taste in music to like the movie. i tend to like movies showing the life of musicians.

I listen to all kinds of hip hop. The movie was just too corny and dramatic for me. Way too much bias for it to be factual.
Also, the LA riots were terrible. Innocent people were beaten and murdered and small local businesses were destroyed by a bunch of self-centered assholes using Rodney King as their scapegoat. The police let that city burn because they knew those people weren't doing anything other than destroying their own community, which is exactly what they wanted.
If your idea of fighting the system is hurting the people in your neighborhood then I don't want to live near you.

i'm sure many of the realities happen to be terrible. maybe in modern times we can find a way to over come the police without harming the community.
but from what i understand a lot of the businesses there also pissed on the community, so the might have deserved it. but i've hardly been around cali so i'm only repeating what i've heard.
regardless i think the people ought to find a way to overcome problems driven by power hungry abusive authority, without harming themselves.

Great movie, but it really loses the main focus of the book. If you haven't already, I highly suggest giving it a read.

I've read it several times. It's a great story and i prefer the book over the movie.
I've just been re-watching most of my dvd collection because they're collecting dust.
