Minimum wage should be raised to...well lets brake this down 15 dollars a day in gas expenses to be comfortable, 20 dollars a day in food to be comfortable and lets say 60 dollars a day to have fun with you know actually live life with after a shitty 8 hour day=95$ to 100$ definately should be atleast the national minimum wage

Minimum wage is for high school kids bagging groceries and uneducated people who cant get good jobs or make themselves good money through entrepeneurship.
How bout they lower minimum wage and encourage more education, even in technical degrees or skills.
I made $5.65 in high school bagging for heb and the minimum at the time was 5.15. ALL i used it for was for weed. If youre over 21 and still makin miminum then theres other problems going on like lack of education or a felony record. And even felons can start their own business.
The higher the minimum is, the less people feel the need to improve themselves.

Damn, I wish I hadn't already rated you. Nobody wants to hear pathetic stories, some of us adults have had real lives, and don't have any pity for you, or your rebel ways. Make better choices!

Both of my parents grew up dirt poor and struggled to make ends meet. I bought weed because i was one who rebelled against the system. Ive been arrested multiple times, only have an associates, yet i dont use it for shit. I made my own business.
I also have tons of friends who grew up with nothing. My best friend in hs was so freakin poor and now he makes wayyyy more than me, like 70-80k a year selling door to door. He dropped out of high school, got his ged, took one class at a community college then dropped out of that too but he said fuck minimum wage and made something of himself anyways. We used to do soooo many drugs. He was a bigger rebel than I. I live in one of the areas in the US with the highest poverty rates so i see lazy fucks every day. I also see people who see that they can better themselves, and do it. I even see spanish only speaking people with no education selling food out their cars and make a few hundred a day.
The harder your life was growing up is even MORE reason to make somethting of yourself. Im sure you could make 100k a year yourself if you really wanted to. Just discover your skills and use them to your advantage.

Also, rebelling does not mean saying fuck teachers and authority (unless its cops busting you for drugs). A true rebel knows the real enemies. Some of the biggest rebels were people trying to improve the lives of others. They just see an unjust system and rebel against it.
Im a felon but im not gonna let that hold me back from makin good money or limit my options.

The problem is the cost of living, not the wages we earn (not that the two are not inherently linked, but the metric with which we should measure our costs should be the minimum wage).

lik 35% of older people get jobs in min wage
the only way to get a job is to pay for tons of schooling that put you in debt for the next 10 years
I think people should work 37hours and get paid for the full 40hours, lunch isn't supposed to be prison

I wouldn't categorize myself as 'older', but I make substantially more than minimum wage and have no formal schooling besides a high school diploma. I'd even venture to say that the %35 you mentioned, if that is an accurate estimate, gave up on themselves and settled. They deserve what they have, and shouldn't be complaining.

yes they should in 1960 it took a week and a half of work to afford housing where are we at now in most of the country? 2 1/2 weeks? then there's all the jobs going oversea's since well forever but sooner or later we're going to be eating our own foot (figuratively) not that that has anything to do with successful business or reduced crime

Or perhaps they ended up in situations where job stability was more valuable than trying to find a better one, or they like living in a town that they grew up in.
Nobody should make an unlivable wage, and that's why the cost of living is the problem. If someone can't support a family on an "average" wage there is an inherent problem in how we are managing our society.
Then again, perhaps our problem is capitalism.

Minimum wage jobs can lead to higher wages if you apply yourself, and prove that you are a quality employee. Offering every person in McDonald's, for example, a $15 an hour wage isn't going to raise the quality of the product, just the cost.

Like I said, the problem is the cost of living. Raising the minimum wage just establishes a new cost of living. I mean hell. My dad has never made over $15/hr, and a raise to $15/hr at my job would double almost every single employee's wage (and increase the wages of all but the GM by 150%). Of course it's dumb. Like I couldn't meet labor goals if my life depended on it. And I mean people already get pissed enough paying almost $20 for 1 large pizza when they forget to use a coupon.
Controlling/Fixing the costs of housing/electric/water/gas/internet costs is the only way to fix this problem.
Frankly if people weren't so obsessed with using massive amount of water on their lawns it wouldn't be nearly as in demand as it is now.

Exactlt! The problem isnt minimum wage, its the cost of things rising due to people being wasteful.
We live in a disposable society and no one wants to conserve shit like water or electricity yet they cry when they have financial issues.
Also, if you can grow weed then you can grow food and feed your family.
