does anyone ever feel like the prices are only affordable for people who use cannabis a few times a week recreationally and not so affordable for daily/medical smokers?

Yes! fuck yes! I have a $125 a week weed habit now. that's like an extra rent im paying! They routinely charge $50-60 for an eighth of weed. Now, i can understand why they do this. Or at least my idea is so that there's no incentive to buy all the best chron then ship it to your buddy in Kentucky where the weed is shit. We just need to legalize this shit.

Exactly! That's exactly my plan. Well, aside from selling it at half price! I need some money. The real bonus for me would be selling some bomb weed that i grew to a dispensary that is right down the street. So all my pot head neighbors could smoke on it and not know it was grown right here. I was wondering if i had a product that was interesting enough if i could work something out with the owner to sell stuff at a reduced price to those who are indigent and what not.

I'd grow right this second if I didn't have to worry about the cops.
If i did i would for sure just keep all of it to myself. I'd only be growing 1-2 plants though so I might be able to smoke it all before my new plants are ready. If I could afford to grow an entire rooms worth and not be afraid i would sell that shit pretty cheap though. Around my home town though pretty cheap for good weed is still a shit ton of profit.
I just need to keep telling myself "it will be legal someday."

If you are buying a gram at a time, it's not affordable.
But if you buy larger amounts, and are getting from dispensaries for cheap, then price isn't that bad

Prices are great here man, and I smoke several times a day, every day, I bought 28 grams (an oz) for 80$ yesterday. It is not dank stuff, but it's some Freezeland, outdoor grown, and it is totally incredible!
Otherwise, I can get dank weed for a higher price, like an oz of Purple Kush for 180$, 7 grams of JackFrost for 60$.

The black market still seems to thrive. People were paying decent prices a couple years ago. Medical has dropped in price where I am, most people I know smoke a gram a week, thats affordable. The best thing in my opinion is to have your own, or have a caregiver. Its all about staying out of the market from my standpoint.

Good lord. A gram a week is not what the OP is talking about at all. At that rate an eighth would last almost a month!

Yea the prices are fucking rediculous
did you know that in the 70s it was about 10 an ounce, 30 for the really good shit?
minimum wage then = 2.50
min wage now (in this state at least) 8.25
the 10 an ounce stuff would be worth like 33 bux now, decent stuff
20 an ounce = 66 bux, which is like the pretty good shtuff from back then which would be like really good mids or somethin today
and then the 30 an ounce = 99 bux obviously so like 100 an ounce for the REAL fire shit, lotsa old tokers claim the top notch stuff from back then could be considered better than the top shit of nowadays
here u pay 120 for a quarter ounce of good shit, rediculous

i can get mids for 120 an ounce, it gets u pretty damn high and im not complaining but still, 65 would be a much more desirable price lol

Lol, yeh were all over 50 though and the pot is 17 to 20% THC, so a puff or two a day is all ya need. An eigth usually lasts a month.

The only reason its priced that high is because people are paying it. Id go without before that price. Where are you at?

no shit man, I had to stop smoking weed mainly because of the prices. I would smoke 8th a week on the usual. Now I am just trying to pay the internet bill and keep my cell phone turned on. If I had a decent paying job, I dont think weed prices would bother me AS MUCH.
we still have reg here for like 60 an ounce but no one wants to smoke that shit, and it's harder to find where i am

In the seventies anything at 10 bucks an ounce wasnt worth smoking. Columbian was the ever present bag at 35 an ounce. It was too expensive but it was the only pot around. Around the mid to late 80's, Columbian was replaced by Mexican Sinsimella at 100 dollars an ounce, it wasnt true sinsi though it had some seeds. People just quit smokin and buying it at that price. Around 97 I smelled weed on this guy and asked him what prices were, he said he was paying 10 dollars a gram for sinsi. Thai weed (Monkeys paw) was available for 300 an ounce. Around 2006, I made friends with this guy that smoked and he said it was 200 an ounce for anything decent. 4 years later, a friend said it was 350 to 400 an ounce for anything. That old commercial, "why do you think they call it dope?" Went through my head after I heard that. Its ridiculously priced and people are just growing their own or not buying and smoking it.

Well if ur not in a Med state theres major risk involved when growing. why would someone grow then sell it for half the price of the going rate in the area that be like shooting yourself in the foot.
In my area top shelf og kush 450-500 an ounce
what's the going rate out Cali for top shelf og kush

Depends on where in Cali you are. The further south you go the higher the price. I haven't paid for weed in some time but I am familiar with the prices for some reason.
