There is no basis to make that inference from such a simple comment.
Obviously someone who doesn't respect the principles the nation was founded on is not deserving of it.

Well that's not really a solid argument. The U.S. Constitution was intentionally designed to be amended. The people who founded this nation were smart enough to know that times change, and with those changing times, so must we change and amend the constitution to better fit the society we live in presently.
By your reasoning, which sure out was just s one line statement, one could also infer that we shouldn't have abolished slavery, since the founding fathers had slaves.
On top of that, they also held dissent in high regard. So a citizen stating his opinion, also something that was part of our founding, is exactly what he should be doing.

Where did I say the constitution mentioned slaves? 
Also the second amendment was created in a time do unlike now that it hardly even applies anymore. If you think that the guns people own are protecting them, you're blind. The percentage of shootings or break ins that have been prevented by a law abiding citizen are dismally low.
You are more likely to get shot by your own gun than you are of preventing anything.
And this is coming from a gun owner who advocated for much stricter gum control

Real talk tho, "gun control" only makes it harder for responsible people to get or have gins.
The criminals will always have access to guns, or worse. So called "gun control" will not stop this, and the government is aware of this fact.
