sorry if I'm being annoying, I was a member at the shroomery for quite awhile so I know how newbs can b. but I looked and couldn't find my answer.
I'm new to cultivating bud and wanted to know how to keep pests down to a minimum if not none at all. I plan on making a decent sized grow box for my closet. now this will be in my bedroom so pests are a big issue to me. if you were to make awell sealed box would this prevent the rise of pests or at least greatly lower the chances of them? thx for any help I get.

Either. It's a topical concentrated solution. One 8 oz bottle is basically a lifetime supply for the average grower.

I'm gonna start if with a grow tent roughly 3'x 3' x 5' place it either in my laundry room in the basement or my bedroom closet. I'm gonna use cfls for light and use a computer fan for air intake and a vent fan with carbon filter pad inserts for outake.

thx for the tip on topical solutions btw but I'm just wondering if a setup like this will lower the risk of ever getting spider mites . and does this sound like an efficient enough setup? I'm hoping to start with four plants and work my way up to six. what is the best cfl light to use regarding wattage and spectrum..

Your exhaust fan should be able to pull in enough fresh air. I don't think you'll need the computer fan.As for bugs, preventive maintenance is the best way. Use neem or avid throughout veg even if you don't see anything. I would be leary of stuffing 6 plants in an area that small especially if you're going to use CFL for lighting. You're not going to have intense enough light to really do much for 6 plants. Plus you'll be creating a great environment for powdery mildew. You can top and train 1 plant to grow big,and get as much as yield as you would from 4-6 plants crammed in there. Those 4-6 plants are only going to produce up top, and everything below will wilt due to light deprivation. But if you give 1 or maybe 2 plants some room to breathe you will have a happier garden. I just found this site from being on the shroomery, I have been reading over there for 6 months but haven't posted because I'm a myco noob with nothing to add. But I do have a few years under my belt with growing.

Thank you that's actually helpful, I can get a little over ambitious some times but I'll def start with one or two plants.

No matter how sealed off your box is the bugs will find a way in on your clothes or something.

if your serious about doing a little closet grow and doing a couple plants i would stay away from cfls... they dont have the light out put your really need to get anything decent off a plant. Also a big prob with cfls they wast alot of the engergy they burn as heat put off. i just did a quick google and i found a 150 watt hps light set up for like 65 dollars online. that is the hood bulb and balast https://www.1000bulbs.com/product/89339/SUN-900490.html?utm_source=SmartFeedGoogleBase&utm_medium=Shopping&utm_term=SUN-900490&utm_content=Sunlight+Supply+All+In+One+System&utm_campaign=SmartFeedGoogleBaseShopping&gclid=CMaczLXdkcUCFdYkgQodL1YAfg
also i woudl say do the grow in your basement cause that would be a cooler place for the plants durring the spring/summer months to help prevent your plants from getting cooked
with that you would get soo much more light out put and your bottom of your plants will get light and develop alot bigger and thicker buds. with the cfl you might get one ok bud on the top but all little shitty little pop corn buds if your lucky.
oh and a computer fan would not be able to move enough air to keep it cool with cfls.
as for the keeping your plants bug free. well you have to keep your room clean and make sure there no dead plant material around to attract bugs. and as people said use avid or azamax. Also make sure nobody goes in your room to show it off cause they can bring bugs or mold or a fungus in just with there cloths wiht out even knowing it. Also never use any tools that you use outside on your plants. Never go into your grow room with dirty cloths after working out side.
you can never 100 % prevent bugs from getting it but buy doing those things it will greatly help out big time. cause remember some of these bug are so small they can find holes so small to get threw that you woudl never notice.
