You guys ever try those carbon filter sheets for a window ac?
Im guessing they wont cut it..
I usually shut down in summer but this year I wanna keep it going and not even bother with outdoor...
So I need to run a carbon filter and an ac window unit. normally id exhaust the carbon filter outside but I dont wanna suck all the cooled air out.
likewise, i dont wanna pump skinky air out either.
How do you manage your smell w heat reduction needs?

Well, I am venting through a crawl space... so thatd eliminate the health concerns of one...
Probably cheaper than a fan, carbon filter & duct kit.
Can you link yours again man?
I think I recall you also saying you had to purchase something else with it too

Ive done some thinking and after looking at the unit, I think ikm going w carbon filter.
Like, if the ozone quits in my crawl space, the only way id know is the smell would be there.
Doesnt sound like a good plan...

The ozone buzzes as it has electricity crawl along an electrode and kinda sparks on the board. I can actually see it a little through the mylar colored ducting.
My friend has his ozone directly in his 8x8 that he keeps sealed. I think he said as long as you do the math and time it out so that your not producing too much ozone you should be fine.
Ozone works completely and you can tell when the electrode burns out. Ccarbon works only up to a certain point and no indicator that its no longer working, you just gotta smell your way to a new carbon.

I was also wondering about running a carbon filter setup in the room with no ducting and then simply using a window ac.
Anyone done this?

Just running the fan/filter with no ducting works in the room.
What about running a duct around the top of the room just for smell? Put the carbon filter on it, get a small ozone generator and just have the duct carry the ozone to the other side of the room. Then keep the fan on a slow steady pace. If done correctly it should be fine by the time it exits the ducting.
