I have a few outdoor plants on the go at the moment in Australia.
This is Green Poison, been flowering for at least 6-8 weeks I think:
Nearly done yet?

Probably. Judging by the bottom pic. Although it looks a bit fluffy still on the top ones.

Well. The couch lock is my exact mission so idk man....
Are you growing anything else? The reason I ask is because that web sure doesn't look good! As in....eeek, get that outta there.
Really though, when to harvest is something that'll be a personal preference. Genetics are a huge factor for what happens throughout the whole process.

Thanks guys. I got the bottom image with a jeweller's loupe although it is a little unclear. I think it all looks milky at the moment rather than amber so I guess I'll hold off a little longer ... Keep you posted.

No one could tell from that pic man. It's not nearly detailed enough

Damn, thanks Hawks. Can any of you guys help me out with how to take better pics? I have a 30x loupe and an iPhone which has a decent camera on it (for what it is anyway), but I never get decent shots of the trichs. It's really annoying and not helping me at all. I usually put the loupe in front of the iPhone camera and try to get enough light, but it's still not great as you can see.

That pic looks pretty clear to me. Click to enlarge.
That paired with the above pics... should be about done by now. Im not much of a trichome checker but I feel that most folks harvest bud too early in general.

Even enlarged you can't see the trichome heads clearly.
OP, just look up images of them on the net and compare. Its pretty simple

Thanks for your help guys. I ended up harvesting anyway.
Just wondering how long you think this one has to go? It's been flowering outdoors over two months now. It's White Rhino bagseed but looks like a sativa dom pheno to me which would explain why it still doesn't seem finished ... Hope the photos are better than the last ones.

Shit looks nice man. Its just a personal preference of mine that I let my buds go longer than most. Im after that stony couch lock craziness and less of a heady psych ride. Just a preference.
The chem dog I'm running gets super potent if I let it go quite a long time. Like, 4 weeks past when someone else would hack. A nice option is to harvest the tops on a new strain, and let the lower buds finish and ultimately get older.

Thanks Oeric. Yeah that plant is looking pretty nice. You can get the full history of it over here: http://www.growery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/731979
How long do you think you would leave that until it was done to your likes? Maybe I will harvest some now and some later and compare, that could be a good way to work out when to chop that strain in future.
Really appreciating your advice mate.
