I have been reworking a few things in the garden here lately and I have decided to cut out my 400 watt HID completely in my veg tent. The ballast takes up a bit of floor space outside the tent and it just adds heat and abit extra on my electric bill.
I have a decent cool tube and have purchased an adapter to turn my HID hood into a CFL hood. I know for sure that a 125w 6500k cfl will fit into the cool tube no problem. Now I need to know if I should run my fan differently since it was an air cooled HID. I didn't know if it would fuck with the ballast that's already on the bulb or not.
Also, Do I even need to mess with a 6 inch inline fan and hooking up the bulb to the light? I have clip on fans that move a little air and I could always invest in a decent oscilating fan for the tent abit later.
Since its a 3x3 and Im going to be keeping my mother as small as I can, the wife wants us to start getting our hands wet and go hydro for some veggies and herbs. So we will have a little hydro setup in there soon too. Will I have sufficient enough light? The clones from the mom will go into a 600 watt fruiting chamber so they will have enough light to bud good. Just curious if I have sufficient enough light for my mom mainly.
On a side note, do any of you guys have any experience with BUshmaster? I believe that's what the coworkers called it. Said it basically bonsais your plant to keep it bushy and short instead of tall. If I used that stuff on a mom, would it affect the clones in any way? Like the clones would grow bushy too?

I know abo the pruning stuff, I just thought it would help keep the plant smaller and healthy instead of butchering her all the time.
Hey Kapt. I will take pics next week sometime. I took my tent up to work to help the shop sell a few tents. I gotta grab my tent and pick up a cfl bulb. For the hydro setup I just gotta grab another submersible pump and a bucket.
Im not sure if I mentioned, the tent is 6.5 ft tall, so I got plenty of headroom.
