I bought a used aerogarden for $5 thinking I could use it for a cloner eventually.
It works and came with some tomatoes. I put em in for the hell of it and all 3 sprouted today, 7 days later. One is a little behind but I'll be taking off the little humidity domes later.
I've never grown anything other than buds haha so it'll be fun for me. I'm just using thr crappy nutes they include with the kits. I'll post random updates as they grow.

Why should that mean it isn't real?

Totally forgot I made this post! Yes, I have been taking photos every Saturday since I started. The seeds were pretty old so it took them a while to get going, but they're looking really good now. I'm hoping they'll actually flower...my kitchen isn't really all that dark at night, so I might have to relocate them for it to work properly.
I'll upload some pics this Sunday.

These are all exactly one week apart...they fuckin' blew up this week! I topped them (as per recommendation in the little included booklet) and the leaves doubled in size almost overnight haha.
Like I said, I'm using their crappy nutrients, whatever they may be. I notice a bit of sediment in the bottom of the chamber, so I'm going to syphon and replace all the water (also ph it since I haven't been). I'm set on using their nutrients though, just to see if the plant can make it all the way through on them.
I'm not sure if it'll flower in its current location. Lights go out at 9:30 I think, and we have a light on over the stove at all times. It's fairly dark, but I don't know if it's dark enough. If I don't see flowering activity by the end of this month, I'll probably relocate it into a darker room, but I wanna give it a chance.

Excuse the mess...it's in the "pantry" area which we really don't use, I figured it was a good spot to leave this so it'd be undisturbed
Most of all, I just wanna put some clones in this fucker

I think they're proprietary CFL so they don't fit in anything else (I haven't really looked but I think that's it anyway).
Maybe like 100 watts of CFL total. So no good for flowering bud, but good for clones and these tomatoes seem to be responding pretty well.

Woo! Sorry for the lack of updates...getting mad tomatoes now! I've counted well over 15 or so. The "golden harvest" are further along, but the regular red ones on the sides aren't too far behind...hopefully I'll have some of these for thanksgiving with my family :]
I had to chop these fuckers back big time, the light is raised all the way and they were growing way beyond reason. Probably took about a third of each plant.
Now apparently you can keep continuous harvests on this thing for up to six months...I'm just gonna use up the nutrient tablet things they gave me and when it's looking shitty finish it up. This was definitely a ton of fun for $5. I wanna use this thing as a cloner but I'd also L-O-V-E to get some fresh kitchen herbs to put in it. I'm gonna feel like something is missing when these finish.
