I have about 140 week old seedlings and right now they're in HappyFrog soil in solo cups, I have them under some T5s and some CFLs but not enough coverage for all the seedlings and they're starting to stretch a lot, so I wanted to switch them to my 400MH now and maybe just hang the light 3-4 ft above the plants. Is this a good idea, cuz i dont want them getting too stretched out.
Seems like a good idea, MH tends to make your plants stretch less because the red spectrum light in an HPS is what makes them stretch a lot, but most people don't think HPS stretches too much its more of an urban legend or something, maybe the old school HPS lights just sucked and made the plants stretch more. Point being I think it's a good idea, just try to get the light as close as possible while still getting the coverage you need, but it should be good to like 2-3 feet height at least.
