i just got this 6in carbon filter, but noticed a lot of loose carbon inside. can i dump this out? worried more might fall out, is this a normal thing?
the inside also is just screen with no filter. i plan on pushing the air through this, putting it outside the tent. what can i use to make a pre filer inside?
is this the pre filter on the outside of the tent?
what are these for on the outside? to hook the filter onto something?
A little tip: Hook up your fan to your filter and turn it on outside the first time you turn it on. It will keep that big blast of fine carbon dust from going everywhere in your growroom/house:)
Yeah that white cloth covering it is the prefilter and those straps are to hold it in place. The air should be sucked in through that cloth and then out the middle of the filter into the fan. Once air has reached the fan it has already been filtered.
Ya I would prefer the filter to be inside, but it's about 50 lbs and the tent is flimsy. Don't wanna risk hanging it.
Pushing air through the filter doesn't seem any less possible as pulling air through. As long as my vents are firmly in place, the smell and stale air from inside my tent, would still pass through the carbon. I just feel I would have to put a pre filter IN the carbon filter as well.
Night train:
Thanks for the tip, would hate to get carbon dust all over the grow room
