So i'm on the fence on which strain i want to grow my first time, so i figured it be interesting to hear
some stories, and what not on your first grows, and which strain you grew.

I grew random bag seeds I acquired over a few months my first time.

I think I'm gonna have to block that signature. not because I'm offended, but because its consistently distracting.
Also, yeah, bag seed. Then spicy white devil from samsara. It was so good, but I had the windows in my house open and could smell it multiple houses away lol.
Try sensi star or northern lights. They've been good for me.

Serious seeds AK 47, very forgiving , I had all kinds of issues and still ended up with a nice amount of decent smoke.

Couldn't tell ya. Back when I started growing they didn't keep track of strain names only the area they came from. So just about everything that had indica in it was Afghani.

i grew some bag seed in my dads garden in grade 11.... unfortunately it was killed shortly after (presumed by my mother)

You guys growing bag seed, how good did it turn out? i know that bag seed can turn out pretty
decent when you grow it properly. but you've got the chance of getting all males which blows.

That's a cool tid bit of information, I kind of figured though. My father says back in the 80's it was all

 surprised you didn't get caught, must be some cool neighbors. (i doubt the neighbors around my grow house will care in the slightest if it did smell)
i did have my eye on a specific northern lights strain. All though im starting to think im just going
to have to take a leap of faith choosing, because all of these strain names sound like marketing.

Well I lost about half to being males, and it was an outdoor grow so I lost roughly another half to stuff like animals uprooting them and me not knowing proper technigues.
But what I had left turned out to be something like a MS mushroom grow, some of it was really good and some of it was only alright, but none were too bad.
One strain that you can grow from seed that I really like and I was told is a beginner friendly strain is LA Confidential, it is pretty strong, looks nice, tastes good, and has a pretty good yield. When I do finally decide to start a new grow that's probably what I'll choose.

Getting all males would be a CRAZY thing to have happen from bag seed, or from any seeds. Most bag seed is because the plant hermied out, or jsut got stressed and threw out a nanner or two. In which case it's kind of like a feminized seed.
I've never had a ratio of less than half and half. But yes, it is "possible"

In any batch of seeds the ratio of females should be higher then the ratio of males. Mother nature isn't stupid and knows that one male plant can pollinate many females.
