Peat pellets
    #667520 - 04/25/13 11:03 AM (11 years, 6 months ago)

So I germinated two fem seeds in peat pellets and they have sprouted about three days ago they each have one root coming out of the bottom of the peat. They are just sitting on a lid and the roots seem to be drying up along with the peat pellets. Should I water the peat or just plant them in my soil? I was wanting to wait a couple more days to get rockwool cubes but I don't want them to die?

I would plant them in soil.

What was your intentions by putting them in rock wool?

well this is my first grow so I was told by the dude at the hydroponics store that rockwool helps the plants grow quicker than soil, so really all I wanted was to see the difference in growth speed.

Um, well that doesn't make any sense, unless he was talking about using it in a hydroponic application.  Rockwool doesn't have any nutrients in it.

What do you mean, like a bubbleponic system? Rock wool doesn't help plants grow faster than soil? I have nutrients that's good for soil and hydroponic grows its BioThrive by General Hydroponics.

Of course it doesn't.  It's just an inert medium.

And by hydroponic I mean any system, like ebb and flow, DWC, aeroponics etc. etc.

Don't take this the wrong way, but it seems like you have a lot of research to do when it comes to growing.
