Does sweet increase yield? Or only flavor/potency?
Also you only need to use it durring flowering, correct?

Yes you only need to use it during flowering. The theory behind it is that you supply extra base carbohydrates that are accessible to the plant. This should increase yield, as long as all the other parameters are ideal and the plant is receiving everything else it needs to grow to it's maximum potential.
But it shouldn't change taste or potency. Even though have have the grape ones etc.

Thanks for clearing that up.
The different flavors confused me also lol what's the point? Marketing?
Also I seen a supplement that supposedly increases uptake of carbs. Is this true?
Add plant hormones. A further increase in carbohydrate uptake results when certain plant hormones are present near the roots. Auxin—indole-3-acetic acid, or IAA—is particularly effective. A concentration of one micromole per liter IAA nearly doubles carb uptake, although lower concentrations are probably more effective (Kanayama, Ofosu-Anim, and Yamaki, 1998).
Auxin.. So super thrive will do?

Use it at 12-15 mls per gallon, until the last 2 weeks of flowering.

Sweet is super awesome for hydro and i also reccomend it to customers, but if youre doing a soil gro i would suggest using Strapped instead. Its just molasses, is cheaper than sweet, use 1-2 tbsp per gallon and a gallon is about $16 and its organic. Both sweet and strapped are both from botanicare.
Sweet is good stuff too but strapped is like sweet specifically for soil. It even says on the bottle of strapped, "Not reccomended for recirculating systems, for hydroponics we reccomend sweet".
I use molasses on everything...fruits, flowers, nugs, and especially compost teas. I dont use it too much during veg, but i still put a little to feed soil microbes. I think the molasses really shines when added in a tea.

There is a link to a botanicare rep going into detail about it and how to use. Its pretty cool stuff. Not to be suckin botanicares dick or anything but Im real heavy into organic stuff and personally their strapped and fulvex are my two favorite products for anything grown in soil. Ill stop now before i start ranting on about em...

I was going to add that such additives are also said to benefit the soil microbes....that one in, in part, is feeding the soil itself, as well as the plants.
I have stopped adding it, and expect to chop in 1.5 weeks.
Take care,
JD

Well additives like that should be used throughout the flowering cycle, not just the end.

i would do it, just havent tried it for the whole cycle.
but i do know that it makes a difference as a final feed, even tried it in comparison the first time i did it. 2 plants, same strain, one got molasses.

ill give it a try then! should i include it in my feedings or regular water? Im going to be using Advanced Nutrients finally, Sensi Bloom A&B, Big Bud and Over drive.
I have a plant i put into flower last night. Im going to try the molasses cycle on her then because she a tiny lil bitch plant that im just flowering out so a higher yield off her would be cool

I use sweet everyother watering. You should do some research on how often to use molasses, or go by the recommendation on the back of the container.

do you use it with your regular water or include it with your nutrients? thats my question for the molasses.. I usually put it in with the nutrients.

Molasses is awesome for all stages of growth because it feeds the soil microbes. Theres a lot of confusion about how to use it because botanicare makes one and markets it as a soil alternative to sweet.
Sweet is for final flowering, and although you can get similar results using molasses instead at the same times...ive seen better results using it start to finish.
In fact, the roots organics buddah grow nutrient has molasses as one of the ingredients and you can use it on seedlings.
I use strapped starting at 1tbsp/gal added to my existing nutrient program during veg, and slowly crank it up to 2 tbsp during flower. The bottle reccomends 1-2 tbsp.
Being organic, the dosage is pretty high. The smallest ill ever apply is one tablespoon per gal. But at 16$ for a gal...shiiiit...i dont mind adding a lil extra. Sometimes ill put way more than that on established plants in ground when i feel the ground needs a microbe boost but i wouldnt reccomend that to anyone without a few years experience.
Ive been gardening for about 14 years now and without a doubt molasses is one of my favorite additives. Its organic, its cheap, it has a vast variety of applications that many people dont realize just from reading the label, and it gets the job done.
I highly recommend anyone doing full organics to try a frothy compost tea made with molasses.
End rant

Totally agree with you, except that Sweet is designed to use through all of flowering.

I didn't read threw all this but have used sweet many times. Works well but no way in hell your gonna tell one flavor from another in the finished product that is just to get bottles sold.
Best additive I've found so far that works for carbos is from AN and it's called Carbo Load. I like the liquid version better and yes I did notice a increase in yield.
