this is a very short and simple recipe to infuse cannabis into coconut oil.
ingredients needed -organic extra virgin coconut oil and medical cannabis.
tools needed- crockpot, glass measuring cup, spoon for stirring, mesh strainer, large bowl, and gelatin capsules.
-the coconut oil and gelatin capsules can be purchased at your local health foods store.
- turn on your crock pot to low and allow it to warm up
-weigh up and grind your cannabis. use 1 cup oil to 28 grams cannabis.
-now spoon the appropriate amt of coconut oil into the crock pot and allow it to warm for 20 mins.
- once the oil is warmed add in your cannabis.
- now add water to the crock pot until the water/coconut oil blend comes to about an inch from the top of the crock.
- cover and cook for 6-8 hrs. stir occasionally. make sure the temp of the liquid does not exceed 175 degrees. I am able to crack the lid of my crock pot slightly and maintain a temp of 155-160 throughout the cooking process.
- now strain the material through a mesh strainer into a bowl. place the bowl into the back of your fridge. the coconut oil will separate from the water and harden up just like butter does.
after a few days you can cut a hole into the hardened coconut oil and drain the water out. now melt down the coconut oil and place it into whatever container you wish to store it in.
when i make capsules i melt the coconut oil and let it get cool off to 80 degrees. i fill the capsules with a dropper. i don't make more than a few pills before i put them in the freezer....just to be sure the capsule doesn't begin to dissolve.
That's a nice slab and a nice tek. I've been melting butter in milk in the microwave but this is even more convenient. Do they dissolve if they're not in the freezer ?
