 inline air filtering question

hey guys im finshing up building my grow room and had a question I need to filter the air that is going to be going into my grow room to make sure that there is no bugs/mold/bacteria and I see that there are phresh inline air filters and was wondering if those are good to use or hepa filters?
also do I need to have a inline fan hooked up to suck the air threw it? or can I just depend on the inline fan that is hooked up to the carbon filter that is sucking air out of the room to build up enoff back pressure to cause the air to be sucked threw the inline filter and threw the ducting into the grow room?

Passive intake will work just fine. Just make sure you have big enough fans for adequate ventilation. you should be changing the volume of air in your room 2-3 times a minute for optimal growth.

k for my grow flower room im going to be using a 8x8x8 size room. Im going to be using two 1000 hps lights. Each light will have its own 400 cfm inline fan and carbon filter hooked up to it.
If i grab a 1000 cfm inline filter do u think that would be enoff? figured i will grab something that has extra cfm filtering abilty , were the next smallest i seens is only 750 and be a little short in cfms for going in compaired to what the carbon filters are taking out? or would it be better to have a little less going in to make a negative pressure to make sure that air will get pulled threw?

Here's how you figure out if you're moving enough air. Figure out the cubic feet of your grow space, then see how many cubic feet of air your fans are moving.
You need to move 2-3 times the amount of cubic feet of air in your grow area. Using all the fans in the same line wont be cumulative by the way.

I would get more then 400cfm with a couple 1000w

umm if u read the post I put up, I stated I have more then 1 400cfm inline fan and carbon filter. each 1000w light has its own carbon filter and inline fan hooked up to it. the room is only 512 cfm for 8x8x8 and the two inline fans and carbon filters together will be pulling 800cfm

the 1000 cfm would be use to filter the air that goes into the grow room to replace the air that is being sucked out threw the carbon filter that runs threw the hps light and out of the grow room.
there wont be a inline fan behind the 1000 cfm air filter to pull air threw. want to use the back pressure that the out going air would make.

Fuck that, make the 1000 cfm an exhaust. Have your intake be passive.

umm u lost me there? wouldn't the 2 400cfm carbon filters be the exhaust? cause the air that is being filtered goes threw them then threw the light hoods and out of the grow room

It would be, but if you used the big fan as an exhaust instead of intake, you'd have that much more fresh air coming in. Then the air coming in would just be passive flow.

I concur.
Use that 1000cfm as an exhaust. I thought I didn't have enough intake from my passive until I turned it around. My passive intake wasn't enough for whatever reason but now it is with enough exhausting air

well I don't have a 1000cfm inline fan to suck the air out of the grow room.. only two 400cfm inline fans. I was just going to buy the 1000 cfm inline air filter.

Well shit. I misread that. An inline filter doesn't really work well like that man. Inline fans are meant to have the fan attached directly to it. Im at work so ill think on it and get back to you later

Ugh, so what you're going to want to do is just use tubing with a filter over it. I wouldn't really worry about mold spores. Just get a filter that has small enough screening to prevent mites. But keep in mind they can come in on your clothes anyways.

Silk screen, or a hepa filter, prolly the hepa filter. In all honesty I dont use any type of filter
