In the last 1-2 weeks of flowering. what can i trim my plant over??
plastic tupperware type containers? can i trim over these?
also, kinda confused on the harvest procedure. do i trim off EVERYTHING except for the flowers to dry? i want to dry my fine trim as well.
or do i leave on the fine leaf trim on the buds, and then trim the fine trim off after harvest, before curing??

I've only harvested once, but I just trimmed over the kitchen table. I trimmed all the fan leaves and some that were in the buds, but left the harder-to-get sugar leaves until after they were dry. From what I gather, it's really all about personal preference.

After a few rounds you'll settle into a specific technique that works for you. I chop the plants and then separate into more manageable sized branches 8-12" long or whatever. I cut all the large fan leaves off and they are composted. Then trim as tight to the buds as I can. I trim like you suggested, seated or standing over a large plastic tray to catch trim. Then hang the buds to dry..I dry mine on a large screen but I think most people hang dry and it certainly works well. I bet you can find some videos on youtube of people trimming if you want a visual..

I used to grow pot. I still do grow pot, but I used to grow it too.

it is more then annoying to do so and you might loose more but sometimes you need a slower dry time. I also know old timers that say its the only true way to keep the flavor in the buds while drying. I'm just saying those are the usual options (with many variations)

If I was to trim and manicure before drying, how do I dry the fine trim?

how does the paper bag method work? wouldnt the moisture be trapped inside the closed paper bag?
would it be worth to hang dry a 2 foot tall plant with about half an ounce of bud on it? better to use the paper bag method? any other simple methods to dry a low quantity of bud?
i do have a dehydrator that i used for cubensis. this dehydrator doesnt use heat at all, it uses a small fan at the bottom of the equipment and flows air throughtout the compartment, which is comprised of however many trays you need for drying.

hang dry for a few days, then when its starting to show signs of stem cracking, chop the stems into smaller pieces so they can fit in the paper bags, inside plastic garbage bags. use the plastic to control the rate of dehydration. The paper bag will be able to breath and absorb and transfer some of the water. If you use just plastic it will make the buds sweat and fuck them up. I will start with the plastic bags off or wide open, then close them off some, or all the way as time goes on to slow the drying down. Same with the paper, as it will feel moist after a few hours inside the bag.
when buds are snapping off the main stems they are ready to go into jars for curing.
I trim my buds before I hang dry them. That trim goes into a paper bag to dry and gets kiefed later.

Decided to harvest today after I come home from work.
Some issues
When I get home is when the plant usually goes to sleep. Should I just leave the lights on if I plan on harvesting in the next 6hrs (6 hrs cuz I will wait for my parents to go to sleep until I harvest)
Or can I let her go to sleep n then just wake her up after 5-6 hrs of darkness to harvest??

I plan on using my same 3ft tall grow cab for hanging my buds to dry.
Any new modifications I need to make? I will obviously keep the lights off. Have buds hanging from a hanger suspended inside the cab. I plan on keeping my 2 pc intakes fans on as well as my 1 exhaust fan on.
I want to keep the grow cab a Lil open to let in a secondary fan airflow to come in from the outside. Set on low and blowing beneath the buds, not on them.
Suggestions? Improvements?
Will hang buds up until stems begin to crack

Unless you can check your RH and you're not allowing direct airflow on the buds and there's no light. I think you're good.

im looking for a 20% amber trich ratio for my sour diesel. currently it is well around 20% amber trichs all over every trim leaf near the bud sites. however the buds themselves do not have any amber trichs on them, only the fine trim leaves?
should i wait for amber trichs to show on the buds as well? my preference is to harvest with 20% amber trichs
