the bubble bags are getting pretty dirty.
can i do an ISO wash on them?
to clean the screens, and get a little product in return.

I'd use the iso. if your scared try it on a small spot on one of the not so cool bags (like most inner one).

did a quick rinse in 70% ISO of my drying sieve and screens on my bubble bags.
letting that evaporate now.
we'll see what comes of this.

A metal apparatus and a silk screen.  Since one didn't have any problems obviously it would be the same on a completely different material

I use oil.  Less abrasive than substances like ISO.  ANd then once you're done with that, if youhave quality bags, I throw them in the washing machine on a gentel cycle, a mile detergent, and an extra rinse cycle.  Then hang dry.

I own a few different brands of bags and I can tell you from experience that rinsing the bags' screen with isopropyl alcohol is just fine but don't allow any ISO on the bags' fabric walls as this could leach dyes or perhaps weaken the fabric.  Rinse the screens with water after gently cleaning the monofilament screens with the ISO.

I've used this same type of mesh in making ISO oil runs (pics in this forum) and the ISO does not damage polyester monofilament mesh.

But as you stated, if left on there it does do damage.  So I would conjecture that over a long period of time it probably is doing damage to the material.

I didn't say that; my advice to rinse with water afterwards is to ensure that you rinse away the alcohol dissolved resin.  Polyester monofilament mesh is resistant to many acids, solvents, alcohols, etc.  It will last a long time.

Polyester monofilament thread is also hygrophobic. It won't retain liquids inside the threads.  If the polyester was hygroscopic like nylon monofilament mesh (which we use for dry-sieving) than it would retain some solvent in the threads and weaken over time.

That being said, your statement above isn't incorrect- you should rinse all types of filter material after use.  Yes, polyester mesh left exposed to or soaking in even weak solvents over time would degrade it....eventually, but I am also letting you know that this type of mesh can handle stronger solvents than what we are talking about here.

Bubbleman also advises the quick isopropyl wash followed by a cold water rinse I mentioned above.
