neutrients ferterlizer question
    #651432 - 12/16/12 05:40 PM (11 years, 11 months ago)

I was reading that post on liquid karma with the difference between different ferterlizers and I was wondering I took a look alone at different brand I can could see that they all have different ratios for N,P,K ,  Now How should i got about pick a ferterlizer? Cause i know that with any nutrient you can over do it and can hurt the plants.. So what would be a good ratio to look at for my every day usage?

I do know like with nitrogen that it needs Higher levels during vegging .phosphorus levels need to be highe rduring flowering.
potassium is used all stages and it helps the plant fight off bacteria and mold.

But what kind of guild line should i use to go by?

All the major brands work well, you will just have to try them out for yourself to determine which one you like the most.

I use a whole menagerie of different things.

The main nutrient line is Botanicaire.

well as people been saying the like liquid karma and hawk is using botanicare, so I think I will just keep it simple and start off with that brand and see how it goes with that.

Now do you guys use anything to help prevent mold, fungus, bugs?

Cleanliness is the key to PREVENT these things.

One thing to me that is essential to indoor soil growing is PHC biopack.  Great beneficial micro-organism supplement.

kool I will grab that

Well for the cleanliness im deffently going to be on top of that, but figured I would try to stock up on some extra supplies to help prevent mold and fungus, mildew and mites , cause I still got to get a feel for all this stuff and figured it might be good to have this as a back up till I can get all this stuff down to help prevent lost crops deffently with all the time its going to take to fully grow out a plant. I figure it wont stop it 100% but if it helps till I can get my growing skills down better then why not.

It's nothing like cultivating mushrooms; I get the impression you feel contamination is your biggest enemy.
If you maintain a clean environment and a sterile procedure, you'll be fine. Maintaining a healthy rhizosphere using beneficial organisms, as Hawk stated, will do a lot to keep things in check.

oh ok yah I was getting the impression from people who I talked to that contamination was a huge thing(and easy to happen) to watch out for like mushrooms.

Mites would be your biggest threat by far, but if your careful you shouldn't have to worry about it too much.  What I would do is buy some avid, and just have it on hand in case you do come down with mites.

It's not cheap, but it's the best product on the market.  Just can't use it in late flowering.

Avid

It'll last for a long long time man.
Just takes a little.
And last for like 45 days on the plant.

now with that stuff how would it be applied? Would it be something I just spry on the leaves? Or mix in the water that I water the soil with to protect the roots also? or both?
