Going to start building a grow room but need some input

Well I have a 20x11 room to work with in my basement.. what I want to do it set it up so I cycle plants.. figure try to harvest 4 plants every month.. So would it be easier to just have two small grow tents? on tent with a mh light for 4 plants vegging..and one with hps light for 4 flowering plants.. (or should I just use hps for both veg and flower???
Now would 400 watts be enoff? or should I go 600? I want to try to get a 6-8oz a plants.
and for mother(1-3) plants and clone/seedlings I figured just get couple cfl or t5 light? and make a small closet it for that so I can try to cut down on power usage if possible

tents should be fine. LED is enough for veg.. you can use HPS for that too but it's just not needed. With HPS you need a vent for cooling as well because it's so much hotter than LED.
400w hps is enough for 4 plants.
What I'm going to do with veg/motherplants is cut off a stickling from each motherplant about a week before the flowering plants are going to be harvested.
Then move the motherplants into flowering and let the new sticklings grow into the new motherplants.
I just don't have enough space in my closet for both motherplants and "normal" veg plants that will be moved to flowering.

Definitely not. That would be 2 pounds man. You'd have a hard time getting that from a thouie

That's still over a pound. That'd be hard for someone experienced to get, let alone a newbie.

Hawk's right, you'd have to veg those bitches for a long-ass time, and/or have a crazy high production strain. Why do you care about volume so much? Plannin' on being a droogz dealer?
I don't want you to take this the wrong way, but based just on your posts that Hawk/myself have responded in, it seems like you're not really putting in the work in terms of researching and preparing your grow; rather you just post questions as you think of them:
Obviously we can (and are happy to) answer the questions you put out there, but what about the important questions that you don't even know to ask yet?
I really recommend buying a book or two, and reading them cover to cover before you put your seeds in the soil.

umm I have been reading the marijuana horticulture book. Im going to be a care taker and I can take care up to 6 people so the reason I been asking about volume is because I want to be able o make sure I can grow enoff to take care of them all. So I just been asking questions that come to mind while im reading.. LIke I been reading about training plants..i like the how the method of Fim can increase yield but have a big risk of infection.. So I was going also ask what low stress training method would have the highest out put?

also one of the reason I was wondering If I would be able to yield 1-1.5 pounds is because I read you log were you got almost 6 pounds with 6 plants with 3000 watts.. so I figured it I had 1/5 of the light watts that you had so figured I could get 1/5 the yield. Well I don't expect it to happen the first yield or anything because I know that u have experience under your belt were I don't. but just wanted to see if its possible to get that kind of yield after so grows to get the most yield I can for my investment to take care of patients I will be taking care of

It took me a few years to find a strain that yields this much. It took awhile to learn this strain and know what it wants, when it wants it, and how to train it. I have also been growing for around 8 years. And yes, I get 2 pounds per 1000 watt light every harvest, as long as I stick with this strain. I tried out some blueberry and another random strain, had 3/4's of a pound under that thouie.
Get a light, have low expectations, and start getting the experience in. Don't grow for other people that are depending on you for medicine when you don't have any experience.

ok well I guess then how I should have asked it was, how much lighting would I need to have the abilty to grow that much? the reason im asking this is as u stated it took u time to figure out how to get that much.. and I understand that I guess how im looking at it right now is to get the right equipment to start off right so that I don't have to upgrade latter and spend twice the money cause of getting under powered lights. So when I do have the experience and learn how to get better yields I will be all set up right for it then.

The minimal lumen you want is 3,000 per square meter and optimal is 6,000 per squaremeter.

k will do... now im looking at grow tents I was thinking a 3x3 .. will that be big enoff for 4 plants to grow out and not be growing into each other? or would I be better off with a 4x4?
as for the 1000 watt lights. if I do two grow tents one for vegging and one for flowering.. Would I need 1000 watt light per each tent or 2 per a tent?

2 for the flowering tent. 1 for the veg tent. Or you can do 2 tents of the same size, have 2 1000 watt lights in each and stagger harvests and harvest more often at the same time.
And would go with 4x8 tents.

yah that's what I was thinking about trying to do was to get it my grow going were I can harvest 4 plants every month.. figured try to get it going were I would have 4 plants in the young clone/seedling stage then 4 veg stage and 4 flowering

When buying your tents, you can go with a cheap tent for the veg room, but make sure to get a REALLY good one for the flower room. unless you don't mind taping up pinhole light leaks...
Or just make one out of 2x2's and panda-film, if you're handy with tools...
