 Ignorance about marijuana

So I was talking with a good friend of mine on the phone today and she was telling me that driving high on marijuana is just as dangerous as driving intoxicated on alcohol.
I think we all know how ridiculous this claim is, but I was wondering if anyone knows any good studies that have been done on the matter.

i drive high All the time.... im a daily smoker tho. but i wouldn't recommend it
but for someone with a low tolerance to smoke a blunt or eat brownies then go drive is not smart.

Yeah, I pretty much told her that I rarely drive when I'm not under the influence. And honestly, that's true.
But it does depend on the person. I've been smoking pot for 20 years and pretty heavily for much of that time. I drive just fine high, and if I'm driving for hours, I damn well better be high.

Eh, I was just being an ass.
Obviously most of us think it's safer to drive stoned than drunk. But really it's best not to drive fucked up on anything. Not that I ever follow that advice.

mmm, I actually dislike driving stoned. I'm a pretty nervous driver. I hate driving. I live in the middle of nowhere so I can more or less do whatever the fuck I want on the road. I drive down the middle because I can.
but when I leave town and have to deal with traffic and other drivers and obstacles like construction I'm a nervous asshole. I need to focus 100%, sometimes I even turn the radio on if its stressful enough.
weed doesn't make dealing with it easier for me. so I try to wait until I'm not fully high when I need to go somewhere out of my little bubble of a hometown.
just my opinion tho. idc if my bro is high and driving.

also its a bitch driving at night. Idk if I have bad night vision or what, but when cars are coming at me with their headlights I really have to just hope I'm still on the road. I can't see shit at night. especially if its been raining.

Yeah, like I said. Different individuals will respond differently for sure.
I used to have a hard time driving stoned when I was younger, but anymore it just makes the whole process so much more manageable.

I drive stoned pretty much 80% of the time I drive, I think it can actually make you a safer driver. I know there is a report that says states that legalize it have less car crash fatalities afterward.

This is not true whatsoever. Marijuana effects your reaction time. While stoned drivers tend to drive slower then drunk drivers, and wrecks of people who are stoned would obviously have less severe injuries because of said driving states.
Being stoned does NOT make you a safer driver. That's a stoners excuse to be stoned while driving.
