Pretty standard opening weekend for college football. Not too many big upsets
I was hoping Michigan would at least be competitive against Alabama and even had the slight hope they could pull the upset. NOT. They got their asses whooped pretty badly.
Was fun watching Ohio University beat Penn State
the MAC conference had a pretty good showing; Bowling Green almost beat Florida
I got tickets for Arizona State (beat NAU 63-3) vs. Illinois this weekend. That should be an interesting game for sure. A win would be huge for Arizona State under their new coach, Todd Graham.
Michigan State beat Boise State as well

Arizona State just played a damn near perfect game of football
They had only 1 penalty the entire game against Big 10 opponent Illinois
Final score was 45-14 and ASU put up 500+ yards of offense, score could have easily been 59-14 if it werent for 2 redzone fumbles by ASU running backs. But at that point the game was already well in ASU's hands.
My other boys, Michigan, managed to win a close game against the Air Force academy. Michigan was ranked #18 heading into the game but I feel they are a little overrated.
Next week Arizona State goes on the road and plays at Missouri in a game that could jump ASU into the top 25 with a win
Michigan will host UMass in a game that should be easily won.
The PAC conference in general has looked very solid today. UCLA upset ranked opponent Nebraska. Cal won their game big time. The University of Arizona beat #18 Oklahoma State 52-38
and Oregon State upset #13 Wisconsin 10-7 in their first game of the season
Big week for the ASU and the rest of the PAC conference
Cant wait to see whether or not ASU can keep it going under new head coach Todd Graham
Go Devils

SunDevils host #2 Oregon here in a couple hours
Going to be a HUGE game for ASU
A win would be a major upset and would essentially clinch a Rose Bowl berth for the Devils, and would jump them into the top 20 nationally

I've been enjoying my colleges season so far. It would be bitching if they made it to the BCS.

I just read this. The funny thing was that you talked about it like they actually had a chance

Notre Dame #1, Alabama #2
Should make for one hell of a NC.
I think Bama will toast them but we'll see
The matchup of Oregon vs. Kansas State will be equally entertaining

I was hoping KSU would make it to the top. Saturday was a sad day for this guy.
I expect Bama to beat the irish though.
I think most of the KSU injuries should be dealt with today though, talked to one guy who was injured this weekend who said he will be able to play this next game.

I agree with everything you said.
I was really rooting for KSU to win it all and I thought if any team had a chance to beat them, it was going to be Texas. But Baylor deserved to win that game, they completely dominated. KSU's defense had no answers and i'm not sure Zimmerman playing would have made the difference.
Bama vs. Irish is going to be one of the most profitable bowl games in the history of the BCS. Those are 2 teams with probably top 5 fan bases in all of college football. I cant wait to watch that game. I have no trust at all in Notre Dames offense though, I think Bama's defense will rape Golston and win by at least 10 points
As long as Oregon can handle business this weekend against Oregon State and win the Pac12 championship game, then that game vs. Kansas State is going to be fun as hell. Going to be the complete opposite of ND/Bama, two crazy offenses who can score in under 3 minutes with consistency. Oregon still has work to do though.
Too bad Ohio State is ineligible. They play my Wolverines this weekend in the Shoe' and if they win they will finish the season at 12-0. Urban Meyer is going to have that team ready to go next season and they could be favorites to win it all. Braxton Miller is going to get better. I think he's a lot like Golston but better in all areas of the game.

That's what happens when there are like a dozen games in a preseason.

??? That doesn't make sense to me
If they had lost earlier in the season it wouldn't have been an issue. But now it is? Fucking stupid.

Looks like we're going to have an Alabama vs. Notre Dame, National Championship game.
I expect a pretty big Roll Tide. I think Bama's defense is going to kill Golston. Rees will end up playing at least 1 quarter of the game. And Bama wins by 14+
Nothing warmed my heart more than seeing the Ohio State Buckeyes go undefeated but not be eligible for a bowl game

Can't wait! Got family on both sides! Btw I have to admit that Johnny Football is amazing! It'd be easier to say if I wasn't a Bama fan but I like watching that kid play.

Who are you picking to win?
Yeah, Manzeil has been a machine. Unfortunately living on west coast where I always get the Pac12 games, I have only gotten to see him play once. But he was impressive.
I heard on Sportscenter today that he broke some all-time record for total yards in a season. I dont know if that was in general or for a freshman player. But regardless, Texas A&M struck gold with that guy. They are going to get at least another season out of him. Couldnt see him staying all 4 years though. Not at a school like A&M and with as much talent as he has

I know they are undefeated and all that but I just dont think ND is the 2nd best team in the country.
I would have much rather seen Oregon vs. Alabama or even Kansas State vs. Alabama depending on how both teams finish the season.
Notre Dame wins, but man do they win ugly. Golston is garbage. Braxton Miller on the other hand. Much better of much the same QB

Cant believe all the bullshit love the BCS is giving the SEC again this year
Bama #2, Georgia #3, Florida #4
I dont know how they let Georgia and Florida leapfrog over Oregon. I dont think they should have even passed Kansas State
BCS is all fucked up. Will be interesting to see how the bowl games shape up.
At least there is an SEC Championship game that will knock one of those teams down
6 of the top 10 teams are from the SEC
