I have a closet that is about 3m wide 3m high and about 1m in depth. How many plants would i be able to fit in here and how much light plus what kind, I intend for this to be my flowering chamber.
HPS, HID? wattage?

HPS, HID? wattage?
the amount of plants you can fit in that space really depends on the size you keep the plants.
That's a really wide space. I would say if you wanted to light that entire space you would need 2 600 watt HID lights. Mh for veg and hps for flower. personally I would go with a 600W HPS / MH kit to start with and upgrade by adding another light if you want later.
I would guess 4 - 5 decent size plants in that space unless you have many smaller plants.

and fyi - MH and hps are all hid lights, and the more light you have the faster and bigger (better) your plants will be if fed/watered well.
600w is a great starter setup but 1000w gives you the umph but creates alot of heat
so how many plants you can have is determined if you are growing from seed (bigger) or clones (smaller) and how much light you can afford to get.
you can get away w/flouros or cfls for veg but you want some power to flower

Thanks guys! I was thinking of getting some specialized growing flouro's. From a hydro store and they have about 16 seedlings under them so I gather those ones will be okay for vegetative growth and taking care of mothers? Or should I just go and look for a MH light?
Then for my grow room (a closet the exact same size) 400w or 600w HPS. Or something of equal quality?
It is the colour (kelvin) that makes the plants go into flowering and the wattage that gives you the amount+quality flowers yes? What Kelvin should my flower room be? Is it important?

Metal Halide (MH) is blueish ~6000k, it represents the spring season. High Pressure Sodium (HPS) is reddish ~3000k and more accurately represents the end of the grow season. It's how the earth works, the tilt of the axis, etc. Plants have become accustomed to the different shades in the different seasons. Veg with MH and flower with HPS. The kelvin rating is already taken care of via bulb composition.
So if you plan on vegging and flowering in the same area and want to use HID then you should get a 'switchable' ballast that can run both MH and HPS bulbs. If you have another area for veg you can get by with regular HPS and MH only ballasts.
I've never used any of the fancy expensive flouro's, but the t5's can work as a great veg lamp if its positioned directly inches above the plants. a 4' fixture with 4 or 8 bulbs are 150 and 200 new on ebay--watch out for used one's, people buy new and sell used for the few $ savings on the bulbs. Look at the size of the fixture and if the plants can all fit under it then you should be good as long as you don't grow monster sized plants. Make sure to get the bulbs in the 6000+K range, I think they are 6500 on those.

mh and hps over flouro's any day! flouro's are not even that much cheaper. I always think if your going to do something might as well do it right.
