So Im thinking getting a cooltube or a air cooled hood is a good idea for me as Im trying to keep the temps down in my tent. Right now I have a switchable bat wing hood. How would I know if the hood I get has a switchable socket?
Bulbs won't be an issue with either of those. I'd recommend a air cooled hood over a tube any day, but if money any issue then they'd do. Yes you should see a bit of a heat lost using air cooled hoods/tubes. You may even be able to keep your light closer to the tops of your plants.
Now what you need to know is what kind of plug you have from ballast to hood/tube. Both of those appear to be s type plugs, so make sure your ballast has an s type plug as well.
Sooo I'm confused. Alot of people say that a air cooled hood give a larger light footprint. But what about a cooltube with reflector hood? Isn't it the same except the glass is a tube not a flat piece?
