 1st attempt at growing......few questions.

I smoke a lot of weed......so much that I've decided to start growing. What do you reccomend? I want to start off having 4 or 5 plants growing at a time. I can't seem to make up my mind....I don't know whether to go with the 400, 600, or 1000 watt applications. Do I go with flourescent, mh, or hps? I'll be planting feminized alaskan ice from greenhouse to start with.
budget isn't really a concern....thanks in advance for your help!

well if price isn't a concern then get a 1000W digital ballast and both MH and HPS bulbs for it, and an air-cooled hood. that's about as nice as light systems can come, and it will definitely grow you some nice nugs.

wasn't rying to sound badass...just saying......if your smoking an eighth a day by yourself it can get pretty expensive.
1000 watts isn't overkill for 4 plants?

Nope. There is a point of diminishing return, but up to that point, more light=more yield.

There isnt such a thing as to much light however there is a thing as wasting it. I use a 400 W HPS for flowering (7 plants under now) and t 12 for veg. Plenty good enough setup for what you seem to want. However the best lumen to watt ratio come with the 600W (which will cover quit a bit more area). It really all depends on your grow area. However a few things i would look at are 1) dont get a built in ballast(the light is so much heavier its not worth the convenience), 2) horizontal bulbs are a more efficient use of your light then vertical, 3) research the hoods (some finishes are actually very beneficial while others are counterproductive. Also, I've been looking at that strain for quit a few months(literally). I am very excited to hear how it comes out.

If you go with a high wattage HID then you have to keep ventilation in mind because of heat.

that's a good point doc. gotta keep an eye on your temperatures. you'll need lots of airflow too.
