Geo, other mods... How would you guys feel about me moderating just the "Sports Bar" ?
I feel up to the duties it requires and feel I am the most qualified here to do the job

You are hardly one to speak on moderator etiquette 
It's cool that you dont respect me. I think I would make an excellent moderator and it's subject is something I consider myself an expert in. And it's such a small forum anyways

Sorry you feel that way about me based on some drunken troll posts. I will try to take internet more seriously now. There's a reason why my threads usually blow up, and that's because I purposely take conflicted positions for the purpose of debate, not necessarily how I think or feel.
I will likely ask to have my account locked depending on what geokills says.
I have dedicated myself to this community since day 1 of it opening and been pretty much a daily contributor. I think being the moderator for a forum that I helped create both on here and the Shroomery is a very reasonable request. I know I am up to the job and know I would make a good moderator for that forum. I know the subject matter like Magash knows how to grow pot
Even on Shroomery, 35% of my 14,000 posts are in the Sports forum where I run the annual Fantasy Football league as well as other events. As this community/site grows, I would like to do the same and even a little bit more.

From my experience most people who ask to be a moderator don't get to be one.

That is the case usually but I am not the typical person who requests to be one either. And I am only asking to do it for the forum that I specialize in, not a full site moderator.
I feel like I have given a lot to this community. If it werent for my constant persistence there probably still wouldnt be a sports forum on here or the shroomery. it took me 2-3 years of lobbying to finally get one created at shroomery and it's been a huge success with more and more people becoming regulars every year

Why is it that you feel you're so different from everyone else on this site? It seems like you just think you do more around and for this place than anyone else. I don't really see that man. I just see you post. I like having you around and what not. But I'd have to agree, I just don't see you as mod material either.

Same way people with expert knowledge in growing are often made grow forum moderators. I know more about sports than anyone on this message board and feel it would be appropriate for me to moderate that section of the site.
And you dont know about what I do for the Sports Forum on Shroomery. I consistently organize and run fantasy sports leagues for the entire site. It is actually quite a bit of work, for organizing the league, completing fantasy drafts, ect.

i wanted to voice my opinion on this. now, i may not post often, but i do lurk a lot and i feel my opinion is a valid one.
Picklez: i really don't see you as moderator material. you have a huge track record of being disruptive both here and at the Shroomery and that would reflect very poorly on this site if you were made a moderator. being a moderator of "just the sports forum" still includes you as a moderator of this site and as such you are expected to hold to a higher standard and i have just never seen that from you nor do i see you changing to fit that standard. if you could prove, with time and diligence, that you could possibly have the type of character that is looked for in a site moderator, then and only then would you MAYBE be a consideration. as things are now, you definitely don't fit the bill nor does the site need more moderation at this point. this is all disregarding the fact that the Sports Bar is not a high traffic forum and already moderated by the entire staff; having a dedicated moderator for that forum is pretty pointless.
being a long-term member does not automatically put you up for special treatment even though you seem to think you are entitled to something extra -- you're not. maybe this seems harsh, but considering all your recent posts about "giving a lot to this community" i felt i needed to respond truthfully as posting and contributing are two entirely different things, man. posts like this and the ones you made regarding the stickers only make you look like an ass. sorry, but it's true.
really, i don't have any issues with you as a poster but i don't feel that you would make a good moderator in the slightest.

In all honesty, I was shroomin' my ass off last night, I certainly wouldnt make a good moderator.
After 2 1/2 years, I should have PM's back though. At least on some monitored basis or something.

no one is going to want to take the time to monitor your PM's when you should be able to control yourself, which you couldn't, hence why you don't have PM privileges in the first place.
